The Technology Development department comprises of diverse groups of curious, world class engineering specialists. We are experts in our fields and we ensure Dyson products are on the edge of what’s possible. The department encompasses three key groups – Performance Test, Analysis, and Systems Engineering. This role resides within the Analysis group, which provides technical leadership in the fields of flow, thermal management, acoustic and vibration, structural dynamics and mechanics of materials.
About the role
We are looking for a Graduate Acoustics & Vibration Engineer to join our growing team. The role will involve:
Responsible for REQs, FMEA and FRACAS, to drive vision performance for the project.
Basic competency in Matlab, Minitab or Excel to drive analysis of data for timely delivery of solutions / verification reports.
Able to propose design mitigations to achieve performance targets.
Ability to run basic simulations would be advantageous.
Work with technicians to plan tests for timely delivery of results to projects.
Collaborates well with project team to drive delivery of project.
Able to speak up in order to highlight risks that could have been missed.
Able to communicate ideas in a succinct manner in any forms of communication (i.e. – Email, Power-point, Word etc...)
Develop technical competencies by active involvement in projects, self-learning, and training.
Able to formulate a good problem statement before devoting time to solving a problem.

About you
Our graduate roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so you will need to be:
Graduating by August 2023
Working towards or have achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Acoustic engineering or equivalent.
Fresh graduate with excellent academic results and related project work are welcomed.
A good working knowledge of mechanical engineering, vibration, signal processing, and statistical analysis.
Experience on measurement hardware and software for data acquisition, such as National Instruments, MATLAB, and LabVIEW is preferred.
Competent in the use and application of CAD/CAE tools in general. Experience in the UG and ANSYS suite of products is preferred.
To be eligible you will need to have no more than two years of relevant work experience post-graduation (PhD students are not eligible for our graduate programmes).
