The Electronic Systems Research Team are responsible for developing many of the key technologies that enable Dyson’s innovative new products. Our Singapore team of creative engineers is growing, and we would like to hear from you if you are interested in joining us to develop cutting edge technology demonstrations and proof of concept product prototypes. The team cover a diverse range of research topics, including sensor technology, power electronics, embedded systems, and embedded software. We work closely with internal Dyson teams, external research institutions and suppliers to consider all aspects of complex products including thermal design, optics, electromagnetics, aero-acoustics, mechanical design, microbiology, machine learning, and compliance.

We are looking for inquisitive engineers with all levels of experience to develop the electronic systems for the next generation of Dyson products. We are different, authentic, pioneering.

About the role

We are looking for a Graduate Electronics Engineer to join our growing team. The role will involve:

  • Opportunity to work across a wide range of hardware and software topics, exploring cutting edge technologies and developing industry leading product concepts.

  • Working on electronics research projects as part of a team.

  • Reviewing relevant articles, papers and patents and meeting with suppliers to keep informed of emerging technologies.

  • Support the team in designing, building, and testing demonstration rigs to prove feasibility of new technologies and products.

  • Creating clear technical reports and presenting design details and expected performance to others.

  • Working with a creative and methodical approach to problem solving.

  • Plan own work and taking responsibility for project delivery.

  • Identify technical risks and improvements in the way we work.

Our Graduate Programme

Our graduate programme is designed to help you drive your career at Dyson with a two-year journey to help you grow both personally and professionally. We’ll help you to improve your knowledge and support your future career progression with workshops to give you baseline soft skills in addition to technical training. About you

Our graduate roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so you will need to be: 

  • Graduating by August 2023

  • Working towards or have achieved a degree in electronic engineering or comparable discipline.

  • Entry level candidates with no working experience are welcome to apply.

  • Working experience in a relevant industry or research environment is advantageous.

  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience with, or a willingness to learn digital and analogue circuit design.

  • Experience with, or a willingness to learn schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or other mainstream tools.

  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment. Use of lab equipment to set up experiments and to take precise measurements.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team. 

  • To be eligible you will need to have no more than two years of relevant work experience post-graduation (PhD students are not eligible for our graduate programmes).
