The next few years are going to be Dyson’s biggest and busiest yet. All thanks to a £2.5 billion commitment to its future technology pipeline. This growth will need the support of more new people across other functions around the world, including the Philippines. We have c. 6,000 engineers and scientists worldwide and we are now looking to recruit more in the Philippines. With this pace of growth, these ambitious plans, and the complexities of global expansion, it is natural that Dyson is now thinking about the best ways to organize itself globally and manage its exciting new product ranges to best effect.

With APAC now our biggest growth region, we need to question where and how we invest to underpin the future. Our plans for the Philippines are ambitious and we are looking for talented people to join our Engineering families!

The Global Technology Development department comprises of a diverse groups of curious, world class engineering specialists. We are experts in our fields and we ensure Dyson products are on the edge of what’s possible. The Haircare Tech Dev team in Philippines encompasses three key disciplines, Fluid Dynamics, Noise and Vibration, and Mechanical Analysis. The team provides technical leadership in the fields of flow, thermal management, acoustic and vibration, structural dynamics and mechanics of materials.

About the role


  • Has the basic competency to deliver responsible performance in a timely and concise manner.

  • Builds up competency with guidance with involvement in tasks with higher complexity.

  • Basic competency in Matlab, Minitab, Excel to drive analysis of data for timely delivery of solutions / verification reports.

  • Able to propose design mitigations to achieve performance targets.

  • Ability to run basic simulations would be advantageous.


  • Responsible for REQs, FMEA and FRACAS, to drive vision performance for the project.

  • Supports project development by adhering to Milestone Process.

  • Works with technician to plan tests for timely delivery of results to projects.

Career development:

  • Develop technical competencies by active involvement in projects, self-learning, and training.

  • Shares fundamental knowledge with engineers from other functions to increase overall capability of RDD.


  • Collaborates well with project team to drive delivery of project.

  • Able to communicate ideas in a succinct manner in any forms of communication (i.e. – Email, Power-point, Word etc...)

  • Able to speak up in order to highlight risks that could have been missed.

Problem solving:

  • Able to formulate a good problem statement before devoting time to solving a problem.

  • Able to employ more than 1 techniques to breakdown a complex problem.

  • Requires less guidance over time in position.

About you

Delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so standards and expectations are high. You’ll be expected to contribute from the start so you’ll need to be curious, hungry to learn and ready to get stuck in. You’ll need to be:

  • Studying towards a Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics or any related engineering degree

  • Fresh graduate with excellent academic results and related project work are welcome

  • A good working knowledge of mechanical engineering, vibration, signal processing, and statistical analysis.

  • Experience on measurement hardware and software for data acquisition, such as National Instruments, MATLAB, and LabVIEW is preferred.

  • Competent in the use and application of CAD/CAE tools in general. Experience in the UG and ANSYS suite of products is preferred.

Above all, you’ll want to play a key part in bringing the next generation of technology to the world.
