About the role
Reporting into Global Head of Architecture and working closely with the central IT and PMO project management teams, this role will unify the process strategy and energise the implementation plan across RDD, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Commercial functions globally by improving the ‘end-to-end’ business capability for product Bill of Materials (BoM) & Configuration Management.
This role will be the global process owner, to enable advancement of our core backbone of product information, provide industry best practice and grow the capabilities of business processes, training and IT systems by co-ordinating a transformation roadmap to meet our long-term business needs.
Accountabilities:
Provide thought leadership and be accountable for converting the strategic business vision into a series of large transformational and/or continuous improvement activities. Captured in a capability roadmap that is backed up with a multi-year plan that is underpinned by a series of fully resourced and prioritised projects.
Own the vision for engineering and manufacturing BoM’s and their change management across all invested stakeholders and ensure compatibility of application throughout the product lifecycle for all product categories globally.
Own and manage a roadmap to improve people, process and tools that turbocharges Platform, BoM and Configuration Management at Dyson. This must balance process efficiency and process governance and embed it as business as usual in how we develop products globally.
This position will serve to transform and embed industry best practices within project roles and IT systems along with their respective data flows.
About the role
You will be recognised as credible contributor in your field with an expert knowledge in the process. A strong understanding of other core product development best practices and their dependencies on BoM & Configuration process.
Thorough understanding and demonstrable experience of Project Management practices and frameworks within engineering / manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of multiple project management methodologies. (Agile, Waterfall & Hybrid) backed up by experience of applying them successfully in practice.
Have high quality and courageous conversations with teams that create high energy and alignment. Challenging leaders to get the best from their teams, making a strong enterprise-wide contribution as a member of the leadership team.
Excellent stakeholder management, with experience dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders from Chief level to engineers on the ground. Understanding of the correct message for different stakeholders.
Comfortable working autonomously to resolve complex challenges where no precedent exists.
You will have a proven ability to mentor and guide individuals, proactively disseminating your knowledge and assisting in people development.
Demonstrate commercial acumen and that you have a pragmatic approach to capability development that focus business cases on outcomes and benefit realisation.
You will have strong long-term thinking skills with examples, understand how to make good decisions and spot opportunities.
An appreciation of the impact of organisational transformation and what is required to deliver it.
Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and possess an Inherent desire to drive improvement through new ways of working.
Experience in Product Lifecyle Management applications (e.g. Siemens Teamcenter) and knowledge of downstream MES and ERP process and system dependences.
