About the Role

This is a senior leadership role and forms part of the ANZ Indirect Sales Leadership Team (SLT). It is responsible for leading the Australian Field and Retail Sales team, which is made up of Regional Development Managers (RDMs), and Team Dyson Experts and Stylists (TD).

This role is accountable for developing the long-term strategic and short-term tactical direction of the Australian Field and Retail Sales team to deliver our sales targets and execute our in store sales plans.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-

  • Develop national Field and Retail Sales strategy in order to deliver on Dyson sales plans

  • Successful management of budget

  • Lead the effectiveness of RDM’s and TD nationally

  • Deliver annual sales targets to plan

  • Own the forecasting process and work collaboratively with the Accounts team and SLT

  • Contribute to and implement channel strategies that optimise retail and field opportunities and Dyson profitability in line with national sales goals.

  • Actively evaluate market trends, constantly incorporates trends into plans and enables teams to execute fast towards ambitious plans.

  • Keep up to date with promotional activities and ensure fast, consistent, and aligned execution nationally

  • Provide feedback to the ANZ business via the SLT with weekly sales reporting

  • Establish and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders (internal and external) and third party providers to ensure sustainable sales growth in Dyson key channels

  • Manage the KPI performance of Field and Retail Sales team

  • Lead, develop and coach the Field and Retail Sales team to increase overall capability

  • Develop high performing teams by successfully executing on people management activities such as recruitment, management to performance goals and expectations, quality management and development,  team meetings and calibration between regions

  • Drive resourcing, organisational design and operational strategies for the Field and Retail Sales team

  • Identify and develop succession and development plans to meet future business needs

  • Actively drive a culture where all Field and Retail Sales team members are passionate experts in Dyson technology and effortlessly promote advocacy of the brand

About You

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership abilities and be a decisive and excellent influencer.  You have methodical business planning capability and a high level of communication skills both written and verbal.  You will be a strong team player capable of mobilising teams to achieve business plans, and a self-starter who sees things to completion. 

Previous skills & experience:-

  • Significant people leadership experience leading large scale, remote and diverse teams

  • Significant commercial or retail operational experience in consumer, fast moving consumer goods or equivalent industry

  • Proven track record of category management successes, sales leadership and cross functional management experience

  • Proven delivery of consistent sales results

  • High level experience of customer negotiations, customer relationship and engagement

  • Strong financial discipline, budget control and can demonstrate business-first decision making
