About the role
The Head of Research will inspire people to think differently about hair science and push the boundaries on our understanding of this. Through an inclusive approach, you will grow the potential of our research capability, enabling diverse teams to successfully collaborate and innovate to develop our future strategies and new product innovation in hair care.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Oversee our fundamental hair science and research program, both internally and through our external partners
Develop our Hair Care capability, including fundamental understanding, evaluations, science (Methods and claims) and connection with user trials
Contribute to category strategy and range plans
Role model Dyson’s values to lead specialist research teams and grow their potential
Responsible for the inclusion and wellbeing of your people, nurturing them to be the best version of themselves.
Lead on the recruitment and associated people development plans for your teams
Represent Dyson as the Subject Area Leader internally and externally as required
Skills and Experience:
Qualifications in related science or engineering field
Significant experience in hair or personal care consumer product development
Familiarity with global e.g. US/EU/China/APAC regulations overseeing various categories of consumer care products will be a significant advantage
Experience with collaborative translational research programs including working with advisory boards, industry or academic partners would be an advantage
Leadership of significant teams of technical specialists and ability to leverage their differences and potential based on an inclusive approach to people management.
