About us

We are looking for a senior leader to manage our procurement team for semiconductors & electronic components, electronics manufacturing services (EMS), and other PCBA related commodities.
This role reports to the Global Director of Dyson Global Procurement and is part of the leadership team. It represents one of 3 strategic pillars in Dyson’s direct material procurement and strongly contributes to the profitable growth of Dyson as the responsible materials represent a large share of the total spend and provides a growing source of competitive advantages of our product technologies.

About the role

  • Provide thought leadership into procurement and stakeholder organisations to further develop the impact and value of the team

  • Lead several commodity groups with total around 15 team members

  • Full strategic responsibility of electronics and PCBA spend across all Dyson product categories

  • Build strong relationships to senior stakeholders in R&D, product management, Operations and Finance as basis for setting the right strategic directions for the procurement area

  • Responsible to create and maintain long term commodity strategies based on product requirements and technology roadmaps

  • Build and maintain strong collaboration with the Procurement Engineering partners to drive best cost/performance decisions in early stages of the product development

  • Manage supplier performance and maintain relationships at senior management level

  • Create supplier specific supply resilience programs to ensure a long term supply security

  • Drive CSER contribution of suppliers to support Dyson’s sustainability targets

  • Accountable for Cost Avoidance and Savings

  • Accountable for the negotiations of supplier contracts and commercial terms & conditions

  • Oversee and steer cost analyses (cost regression analysis, should cost, benchmarking)

  • Identify, manage and mitigate supplier and component risks

  • Maximise Dual Sourcing to drive competition and supply resilience

  • Manage optimal collaboration with procurement project teams to ensure material availability at all milestones

  • Coach and develop the team in its strive for excellence, individually and as a team.

About you

  • Master degree in engineering (with MBA desired)

  • >15 years experience in electronics and EMS procurement

  • Proven track record in senior procurement roles with top management exposure

  • Strong and immediately convincing communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills in monopolistic and competitive settings

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building and proven Cross-functional leadership skills

  • Excellent project management skills
