In a constantly changing marketplace we sell Dyson technology across the world to leading retailers. We combine global strategy, local market knowledge with the right trading terms to present Dyson in the best possible way. It requires managing multiple networks of Dyson people and overseeing many different retail areas – from in store fixtures to online activation. It takes ownership, courage and tough negotiations. Being constantly driven to see clearer solutions and drive better sales.
About the Role
Our Head of Retail Sales manages the Dyson NZ sales & activation team to ensure the team is effectively managing volume through to gross margin and how we show up across the retail landscape.
The core component of this role is to grow Dyson sales volume, revenue, gross margin and market share in consumer products in New Zealand.
Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-
Lead annual Joint Business Plans (JBP) with top customers
Negotiate annual terms and strategic commercial agreements
Leading partner relationships to drive win/win outcomes for retailer and Dyson
Deliver game changing initiatives that will transform categories and constantly challenge our thinking to find growth
Ensure Dyson brand is represented to our standard through the line and collaborate with the sales and marketing team in Australia to learn and adopt best practice to the NZ market
Deliver annual sales volumes to plan and drive effective channel strategies that optimise retail opportunities and Dyson profitably in line with ANZ goals
Deliver monthly sales volumes and communicating to the leadership team and wider business any changes to budget, target or LE
Conduct regular meetings with key contacts within the trade to ensure retail partners joint business plans are on track
Annual top to top meetings between Dyson senior personnel and key NZ retail partners
Lead account team strategy for all major trading agreements and subsequent negotiations with NZ retail partners; driving defensible trading strategies
Champion and deliver key retail initiatives both within Dyson and with the retailer
Work effectively with key functions in Dyson to promote the market sales objectives
Build, develop and promote an effective sales team
First class execution of Dyson plans with NZ retailers
Take the fight for product leadership to competitors and exploit fully our technological advantages
To be successful in this role, you will be decisive and an outstanding influencer, a self-starter who sees things to completion and energetic in your approach with an entrepreneurial flair. You will be able to demonstrate excellent team leadership skills, possess financial and logistical knowledge and be a strong tam player; capable of building and motivating teams. You have methodical business planning capabilities and a high level of communication skills both written and verbal.
Previous skills & experience:-
Solid experience of working in a high performing sales team in consumer goods
Strong experience negotiating with retailers
Led an effective sales team
Strong commercial sales and marketing experience is desirable
Proven delivery of sales results
Analytical minded and confident when working with KPI´s and trackers
Expert understanding of the Beauty market desirable
