Dyson Turkey

Dyson established our first office in Turkey, to be based in Istanbul on October 2018 and Dyson Turkey has been launched in April 2019. Beginning with triple launch, Dyson relentlessly invests to grow in Turkish Floor Care, Hair Care and Environmental Care categories. The company, at the beginning with a small leadership team and full support from the Regional Hub and Group, is a growing company with the spirit of an energetic and passionate start-up. The exciting growth journey of Dyson in Turkey started and continues.

About the role

The Head of Retail Sales is responsible for direct and 3rd party retail shopping experience at offline channels. He has the permanent task to ensure the smooth and effective operation and development of Dyson’s direct channel and 3rd party chainstores. Furthermore, He/she leads the field team to ensure perfect in-store execution and selective distribution monitoring. Besides, he/she is responsible for training and demonstrations (both physical and digital) in electrical and beauty retailers.

Function objectives:

The Head of Retail Sales is responsible for sales targets, retail development, direct retail operations, activations, field, demo and training. He/she leads both the capability team and the area Managers to ensure best in class retail experience through offline channels.

  • Lead the retail operations of demo stores and demo zones, accountable for ROI at each point of sale and ensure profitability and sustainable growth.

  • Assume primary responsibility on expansion, rental processes, Group Retail approvals, activations, events and vendor management for new and existing retail development projects.

  • Lead the retail execution and sales growth across the Country through our key third-party retail customers

  • Leading a retail team

  • Coach these leaders to ensure their teams execute the retail strategy in their business areas

  • Ability to manage key stakeholders effectively across a matrix organization through developing outstanding relationships with others

  • develop strategies that support the successful launches of NPD

  • continually seeking opportunities to be the first to do things and be best in class, including driving efficiency for the long-term success of our retail presence

  • The role will require strong operational capability to draw insight and action to enable the team to react at pace to trends as well as pro-actively shaping future activity.

  • Proactively analyse national sales out data, infrastructure and investment, market trends and competitor information, whilst identifying sales opportunities and anticipating obstacles.

  • Use this commercial analysis to develop and lead the execution of short and long-term initiatives that add value

  • Be able to demonstrate the commercial value of Dyson to retail partners and effectively build joint business plans to deliver growth

  • Having flexibility to travel in this role is a must, as well as being comfortable with overnight stays.

Leadership responsibilities

  • Retail and commercial acumen: Able to operate stores with full P&L responsibility, including landlord management, consumable purchasing, staffing and capability management.

  • Distribution: working with the Head of Retail Activations and the Head of National Accounts, the Head of Retail Sales will create the distribution strategy in line with Dyson principles for a sustainable long-term growth

  • Team workload: based on tasks and distribution, he/she will create the right guidelines set for the field team to guarantee the right in-store experience and to monitor our selective distribution system

  • Training Strategy: coordinating our retail education specialist and beauty education specialist, he/she will create the training strategy for all physical stores (including direct stores).

  • Demos: owner of the demonstration budget, he/she will create and execute with the team the demo strategy working with internal Dyson experts.

Be an active member of the Retail Sales Leadership Team

  • Take part in regular meetings with the rest of the RS leadership team (Retail Sales Director/Head of Retail Execution, Head of National Accounts, Head of Demo Stores) to provide and receive updates on the business, work in synergy and align on critical decisions;

  • Lead by example and be a point of reference for the younger generations within the Company; behave in line with our core values, be willing to support others when needed.
