Head of Strategy - New Ventures

The Head of Strategy plays an integral role on the New Ventures leadership team. The position oversees the development, communication and execution of strategic initiatives to achieve new business for the organisation.

The role drives strategy creation with stakeholders, creates content and narration for presenting new business models, and designs strategic roadmaps for innovation in partnership with Product Development. The role plays a key role in leading change management initiatives for the organisation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Shape the New Venture organization's long-term strategy and develop measures that realize our business objectives and build a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Strategic planning; strategic partnerships; and special projects. In collaboration with the leadership team, the Strategy head will articulate and implement a strategic vision that focuses on effective growth; oversee implementation of the strategic plan in close coordination with Finance, Innovation, Research and Product Development, build new partnerships to grow and sustain the organization, manage special pilot projects. 
  • Develop strategic opportunities with a view of diversifying the consumer base and gaining an additional share of the market. The Head of Strategy evaluates and recommends business portfolio frameworks, strategies, financial concepts, practices, programs, processes, and measures to be applied across the business.
  • Review feasibility of new markets as well as their potential growth opportunities in partnership with Commercial.
  • Competitor benchmarking, marketing program effectives, industry intelligence, consumer knowledge.
  • Establishes KPIs that the business will measure performances against and determine the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
