About the role

Dyson is looking for a strong strategic leader to be Head of Supply Chain Management for Japan. This role reports to the APAC Supply Chain Director and will be a member of the Japan Leadership Team. A successful candidate will oversee End to End Supply Chain (Planning and Logistics) within the market. The candidate will need to be highly strategic and operational and be able to excel at growing and managing teams of +50 and build a world class supply chain.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure demands for both FG and Accessories follow the global planning cycle and are analysed in depth and wherever needed actions are initiated with agility to close the gaps.

  • With the Region collaboration, set and deliver the strategy and direction for Supply Chain in the market and lead cross functional teams to execute this.

  • Ensure the financial logistic cost target are met. Work with partners across the business to deliver annual, quarterly, and monthly targets. Identifying cost saving opportunities and put a plan to deliver against these.

  • Understand the business and relevant transformation to drive more direct to consumer and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver the business targets.

  • Analyze opportunities, develop, and implement strategies and business plans to optimize the customer delivery experience for both the B2C and B2B, whilst optimizing cost to serve.

  • Govern the systems, processes, policies, and practices in the market.

  • Build and develop a great team that challenge themselves to provide excellent delivery, customer interactions and service turnaround.

  • Own the relationship between Sales, Retailers, and our external vendors to drive the business results.

  • Build and maintain strong, positive partnerships with all stakeholders in Market/Region/Global.

  • Shares best practices and actively contributes to process improvement; delivers results through problem solving and process improvement activities.

About You (Skills and abilities)

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience, preferably in consumer facing industry and/or an organization with a well-developed Omni channel infrastructure.

  • Japanese – Native level, English – Fluent level (verbal and written)

  • Strong hands-on capability in all aspects of the Supply Chain –warehousing / distribution center operations, logistics, production, procurement, planning, forecasting, inventory management, etc dealing with complex retailer supply chain requirements.

  • Experience in managing the team of more than 10 people.

  • Degree educated in a Supply Chain or related quantitative/business discipline.

  • Proven track record in conceptualizing and delivering successful logistics solutions, as well as successfully leading efficient day to day operations.

  • Well-developed financial skills, in particular the ability to develop, manage and optimize budgets.

  • Proven ability to build operations from the ground up defining and redesigning roles, responsibilities, processes, technology, policies, and practices for multiple customer segments.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in defining, developing and iterating (customizing) critical supply chain technology systems (e.g. ERP, MRP, DOM).

  • Experience in negotiating contracts and purchasing agreements and managing RFP processes.

  • Proven track record of success defining and delivering innovative disruptive ideas to drive long term business results.

  • Experience hiring world-class talent, as well as developing and coaching others to achieve their full potential.

  • The ability to think and move quickly and inspire his/her team in an environment where continuous innovation is desired.

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.

  • Experience in working with partners at multiple levels within the organization.

  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously (including demonstrated ability in planning and organizational project management).

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels.
