About The Team

The Treasury activity of Dyson Holdings Pte Ltd. (the Group) is carried out by treasury teams in the UK and Asia. The Asia Treasury Team is responsible for Cash Management, FX dealing, Cash forecasting and Treasury Projects including bank selection, new country setup and business support in Asia Pacific region.

The Treasury activity of Dyson Holdings Pte Ltd. (the Group) is carried out by treasury teams in the UK and APAC. The APAC Treasury Team is responsible for cash management, FX dealing, cash forecasting and treasury projects including bank selection, new country setup and business support in Asia Pacific and the Greater China region. APAC Treasury Front Office in Singapore now covers more than 10 countries including the global manufacturing centres in SG, MY, PH etc along with some of most heavily regulated countries like China and India. The team supports Dyson’s expansion in both manufacturing (new CMs, new products) as well as markets (new and existing). All of this combined with a strong need to follow and actively manage local regulations requires a mature person with strong treasury experience to navigate the challenges and find risk mitigating solutions for Dyson.

Reporting to, and deputizing for the Group Treasurer, the role is responsible for delivery and development of a wide range of global treasury activities as required flexibly from time to time. This involves leading the Front Office team in APAC, significant interaction with senior advisors and colleagues including members of the group executive and wider business.

Description of the role

This is what we need you to do…

  • A central element of the role is to lead and line manage the Front Office staff in SEA and China in their daily-monthly execution of core operations. This includes cash/liquidity management, bringing together the group’s FX exposures and hedging them, consolidating and managing the group’s cash forecasting process, as well as intercompany loan monitoring and management. It also includes the activities to facilitate the operation of bank accounts (set up & management), ISDAs, guarantees, NDAs, systems and process maintenance, projects etc.
  • Ensure all essential treasury operations are delivered either by cover within the team or by yourself.
  • Working with senior colleagues across the globe and at executive level, including the Group CFO and Market CFOs. Working with senior advisors – law firm partners, director level bankers etc.
  • With members of your team, ensure each subsidiary in Asia Pacific and Greater China has appropriate funding, cash management tools and other banking services.
  • Writing proposals and reports to the Treasury Committee and Treasury Review Meeting.
  • Leading on projects related to systems, new business set up, market expansion, cash management tenders and implementation, funding etc.
  • To work closely with commercial and procurement teams to analyze, understand and control underlying FX and commodity exposures and collaborate on related discussions with suppliers.
  • Legal: ownership and review of contracts. These may be directly related to treasury activities, or to the wider business, such as the currency aspects of a supplier agreement or distributor agreement.
  • Banking: engage with banks to ensure Dyson obtains the best service levels and to build relationships.
  • Regulation: engage with SEA central banks and regulators to report, comply and influence.
  • Treasury Management: apply wide ranging knowledge to enhance policy, strategic focus, facilitate best practice, review operational and project activity, and make committee reporting come together to a high standard.
  • Such other comparable duties as may be required by the Group Treasurer.

About you

  • This role is challenging and requires a strong intellect with excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience of international treasury issues is essential, to be immediately familiar with the issues and have a range of solutions to hand.
  • Leadership skills to apply to the immediate team and to motivate other staff along in our objectives.
  • Success will depend upon a dynamism in activity, commitment to deliver and ability to use initiative in resolving issues.
  • Strong communicator and influencer, commercially minded and able to approach and challenge colleagues and external professionals to seek out and understand issues.
  • Confidence with legal documentation in a financial context.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a less structured, fast-moving environment.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Naturally works in the best interests of their team.
