About the role
Dyson Global Supply Chain is responsible for bringing new products from idea stage all the way to SOP (Start of Production), working closely with Engineering (RDD), Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement and Dyson CMs (contract manufacturer). Upstream operations is responsible for engaging in all supply chain related activities from Pre CS to TS and continuing to be a point of contact in the UK thereafter.
The candidate will be accountable for ensuring the upstream team support all projects on time and on budget, whilst continuing to drive operational excellence.
About the role
Upstream lead for representing all priority projects as well as NPI/Research pipeline projects.
Act as go to expert for project/category information across the business
Full programme management and execution of new products from ideation to SOP, following the Dyson Product Development Milestone process.
Responsible for ensuring that relevant upstream representatives are bought into to each product (Procurement and manufacturing engineering)
Provide strong leadership in ensuring clear roles and responsibilities within global supply chain and with other functions to ramp up new products on time and on budget.
Develop cross functional project plans with tangible deliverables across upstream teams.
Drive strong collaboration with the responsible category to deliver clear long term product range plan, which is aligned with global supply chain strategy, as well as long term capacity.
Improve the processes used for GSC to achieve the deliverables in the Product Development Milestone process.
Act as go to expert for project/category information across the business.
Strategically, execute category and geographic growth to meet rapid Dyson growth needs.
About you:
Minimum 15 years of engineering and operations leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ operating at a senior level with C level exposure.
Demonstrated track record in delivering large number of large scale NPIs with breakthrough technologies each year.
Demonstrated track record of end to end management of internal company factories and complex consumer oriented CM/EMS/JDM/ODM.
Demonstrated track record of ramping up production volume across multiple sites.
Demonstrated experience in delivering strategy linked into overall board corporate strategy.
Experience within a high growth environment.
Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Engineering. Business management, Supply Chain, project management
Six-Sigma black belt certification and DFX experiences.
Excellent communicator, with high energy levels, and result-driven orientation.
Multi-national corporations work experiences with strong ability to work across culture.
A natural collaborator, with authentic and coaching leadership style. Demonstrated track record in collaborating with RDD in a highly consumer centric and high technology innovation environment.
Strong ability to “Zoom in and out”, hence, thinking at strategic C level and be able to know the details of operations simultaneously.
Proven track record of cross functional stakeholder management
Strong ability to lead team and influence for results across organisation.
Ability to drive simplicity amongst complex problems.
