About the Role

This role will be reporting to the HSE Manager who is based in SJPS (Dyson HQ). This role will be joining us in the HSE team primarily based in both STC. However, he/she shall be the proxy of the HSE Manager and will be required to support SJPS operations whenever necessary. The main function of the STC HSE is to support day-to-day building operations, RDD activities and make sure all are legal complied and work very closely with the senior facility coordinator. The objectives of getting this role are to fulfil the WSHO, SMO and HSE Committee Secretary legal appointment for STC while the HSE Manager will be having a similar appointment for SJPS. This role will also be supporting SJPS operation as a proxy to the HSE manager.  

  • Assume the role of workplace safety and health officer (WSHO) and safe management officer (SMO) to ensure site compliance to local WSH, Environmental and COVID-19 regulations and requirements from Dyson’s Health and Safety Standards;
  • Provide technical advice and support to stakeholders about HSE.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the RDD engineering team upon their request and make sure there is good risk management in place for all attended and unattended testing and work activities;
  • Develop and manage site emergency response plan and be able to react instantly in case of emergency
  • Ensure site HSE working well, complying with legal requirements and on the good(right) track of achieving objectives and KPIs.
  • Drive and run HSE committee programme ie. monthly meeting, inspection together with the appointed HSE committee chairman and committee members.
  • Lead and conduct incident/ near-miss follow-up and investigation, determine root causes, implement countermeasures or rectifications, establish corrective action & preventative action, and verify effectiveness with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop training matrix for STC folks and ensure the competencies in accordance to individual specific job description or legal requirements and conduct HSE related training wherever necessary;
  • Collect data, develop and maintain the workplace health monitoring programme, communicate and keep a proper record;
  • Write, develop and publish HSE procedures aligning with both global HSE team and site operation to attain reasonably practicable health and safety practices; conduct briefing and training accordingly.
  • Drive the mental health first aider programme;
  • Administer daily operation in STC and support SJPS’s operation a minimal basis or as and when required.
  • To take up additional tasks (global or regional) as assigned by the HSE manager.

About You

  • Must have at least a minimum of 3 years of working experience in the HSE field
  • Must be registered in Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM, qualified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and knowledge in engineering labs preferable.
  • Must understand local specifications and regulations, ISO45001 and 14001 management system
  • Selt motivated, strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Calm and effective in any situation.  Can work independently or as part of a team.
