By 2025, there will be 100 new machines, 3 new product portfolios and Dyson’s headcount will have grown. With this pace of growth, these ambitious plans, and the complexities of global expansion, it is natural that Dyson is now thinking about the best ways to organise itself and manage its exciting new product ranges to best effect.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit Operations, this high profile role will provide an independent assessment that IT risk is appropriately managed and controlled, in the context of a dynamic, fast growing and commercial oriented environment.  In addition, it will also help ensure that potential operational improvements are identified and implemented. 

Much broader than just performing ‘GITCs’, this role will give a unique insight into how the Group operates internationally.  You will provide assurance over key IT risks globally, from enterprise systems and infrastructure through to operational technology.  Furthermore, you will develop and implement an approach to using data analytics in internal audits.

By owning the partnership with the IT community, this role offers high levels of exposure to senior management; and the right candidate will get the opportunity to make a significant difference to the business while simultaneously progressing their career. 

Previous experience in an IT internal audit; or IT business process / controls capacity is essential, preferably in a global engineering / consumer products business.  Experience of utilising data analytics in an audit context is preferred, but a keen interest in how this could be evolved and applied is a must.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of an Internal Audit plan which fits the IT risk profile
  • Agree the objectives and scope of audit reviews with senior management
  • Perform audits in line with the agreed objectives, both as a sole contributor and working as a team
  • Oversee the delivery of IT audit fieldwork performed by the co-sourced partner
  • Deliver and oversee the creation of high quality audit reports that succinctly identify practical opportunities to improve the effectiveness of controls and agree findings with heads of functions/business units
  • Effectively support the business to close agreed audit actions and track progress thereon
  • Provide input and insights to Executive, Board and Audit Committee reports
  • Develop and embed an approach to using data analytics in internal audit
  • Drive departmental initiatives and support the wider business’s initiatives aimed at developing and improving the Group’s approach to governance, risk management and internal controls
  • Act as the IT representative for governance, risk and control: driving and sharing best practice; increasing awareness of Internal Audit & Risk’s role; and building / maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Actively contribute to improving the Internal Audit and Risk function
  • Liaise with external auditors and other sources of assurance to avoid duplication of work
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects and investigations as required

About You:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level (2:1 or 1st) or equivalent
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CISA, CRISC, CISM)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail (in particular the ability to bridge between technical concepts and clear & concise articulation of risks)

  • Experience in developing relationships with senior management across all areas of the business (including internationally) and to influence these stakeholders to effect change
  • Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with other functions
  • Drive to understand all aspects of the operations of Dyson Group
  • Calm under pressure
  • Diplomatic when presenting findings while remaining robust under challenge
  • Credibility at senior management level, including with C-level Executives
  • Willingness to travel internationally to conduct reviews
