About the role

Reporting to the Head of Delivery for RDD (Research, Design and Development) & NPI (New Product Innovation) IT, you will be responsible for leading large-scale programmes for Dyson's global RDD, engineering, and software development functions. You will have primary responsibility for establishing the appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring, sand management of risk and issues and to ensure business readiness for change.

  • Lead the development of business cases and securing approval through review by senior stakeholder panels.
  • Communication and stakeholder management; Identify and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and build consensus across large and diverse groups of global RDD and IT functions.
  • Ensure resources required to deliver the schedule of medium complexity projects and large-scale programmes are secured on time.
  • Accountable for managing and minimising risks and issues by having mitigations in place and achieving resolutions through negotiated agreements and senior stakeholders' engagement.
  • Provide programme performance and controls by identifying success criteria, setting project controls, and being accountable for the overall integrity and coherence of programme and governance framework to support each project.
  • Lead complex business transformation at pace by providing sound decision making and calm leadership under pressure across diverse senior stakeholder groups.
  • Build high performing teams with strong business and content knowledge and the flexibility to work across business areas.

About you

  • At least 5 years’ experience of IT programme management, ideally gained in strategic and complex projects for large engineering or software development organisations.
  • Strong leadership abilities including structured and strategic thinking, critical analysis, and proactivity.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, within and across teams to a range of audiences including C-suite stakeholders.
  • Credible change agent, with track record of successfully manage change and delivering transformation.
  • Demonstrable success via matrix management including offshore/ remote teams; you should have significant experience of building high-performing teams and nurturing individual talent. 
  • Knowledge of advanced risk management techniques and a track record of having successfully applied them.
  • Expert level skills in effective financial stewardship including the development of robust business cases, tight fiscal control of budgets and accurate financial reporting.
  • Experience in leading complex and large value tender / vendor selection.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate at all levels of the business
