About the role
In Dyson Global IT – Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Retail function, we contribute by delivering significant and successful system-enabled change and transformation to support Dyson business across the globe. We form a large proportion of the IT Function, the team is arranged into three business and technology-focused domains: Manufacturing & Planning Systems, Supply Chain Systems and Retail Systems.
We work collaboratively and accurately at pace, selecting the best approach with our stakeholders, and applying the right level of control, to deliver authentic and innovative solutions, on time, that enable the benefits and outcomes required. We are always maturing our methodologies, processes, and ways of working and expect the next few years within the function to be exciting and transformational. You will be reporting to a Project or Delivery Manager and exposed to a variety of potential assignments:
Testing and developing your delivery skills through planning, scheduling, and delivering a low complexity project or a delegated workstream of a larger project or programme within time, cost, and quality constraints
Developing your Agile delivery skillet through experience working on a product team delivering critical changes within the manufacturing, supply chain, or retail domains
Interacting with subject matter experts, Global IT colleagues and supplier contacts to develop your collaboration and communication skills, and to ensure effective management of change, risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies as well as tracking and reporting delivery against milestones.
Start to develop an understanding of the complexities of delivering scope and change through the life cycle of either a project/programme or product management team
Over the course of this two-year programme, we will work with you to develop your career at Dyson by providing opportunities to rotate between domains so that you will deliver projects that span Dyson’s technologies that support designing new products, manufacturing them, shipping them and selling them. At the same time, we will support you in creating and owning your professional and personal development plan, which will help you to navigate your Dyson career.
Our Graduate Programme
Our graduate programme is designed to develop your career at Dyson with a two-year journey, so you can grow both personally and professionally. We’ll help you to improve your knowledge and support your future career progression with workshops to give you baseline soft skills in addition to technical training. Our unique experiential journey provides a framework so you can reach your full potential with leadership talks, lunch-and-learns and more. You may have the opportunity to rotate into a variety of teams to support your professional development.
About you
Working at the forefront of technology is tough so standards and expectations are high. You’ll be contributing to live projects from the start, so you’ll need to be curious, hungry to learn, and ready to get stuck in. But it’s not just about technical expertise. You’ll need to:
Be studying towards or have achieved a relevant bachelor degree discipline. This can be in any subject area, but motivation and attitude are important to us, and you will need to be able to demonstrate a passion for project management. (with not more than 2 years of working experience)
Graduating by August 2023
Be able to evidence your passion for delivering projects and products, either through your university projects, internships or as part of your co-curricular activities
Be able to thrive in Dyson’s fast-paced environment
Knowledge of IT infrastructure and service management and an understanding of project management methodologies would be advantageous.
