We are looking for talented Simulation Engineer – Performance to join our RDD Technology Development team, to support the development of our new Floorcare and Environment Care products.
Working as part of a small team you will be responsible for the product performance analysis. You will be working alongside the design and functional teams to create new ways to measure and predict key performance parameters; and ensure that our technologies are up to meeting their ambitious targets. You will use a mixture of simulation, test and engineering judgement to solve the problems that arise as we develop our technologies and products. You will work alongside your UK counterparts to pick projects up from an early design stage and take them through to production.
About the role
Takes responsibility to deliver support / guidance to assigned projects for performance simulation related activities with minimal guidance from senior engineers / managers.
Ability to identify technical risks relating to specialist discipline within project and highlight to senior engineers / managers. The engineers should have suggestions / ideas with how to mitigate these risks. Understanding of FMEA tools & ability to make contributions with minimal guidance from senior engineers / managers.
Deliver simulation as well as experimental work, primarily from established methods & processes.
Proactively identify & feedback to senior engineers / managers where processes may not be working as effectively as they could, considering suggestive actions for resolution and improvement.
Work closely with various department across site (UK, MY, SG & PH).
University Degree in Mechanical Engineering (other relevant discipline will be considered)
Working level knowledge of simulation, numerical analysis, and modelling. (Fluid Dynamics, and Thermodynamics)
Working level user of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation tools (ANSYS, Fluent, CFX, etc.)
Working level user of modelling tools (Matlab, Simulink & Simscape, etc.)
Knowing how to program or data analysis will be a credit
Sound experience on experimental methodology & analysis techniques
Performance & Personal Competencies:
Ability to analyse & solve problems using established methodologies. Expected to solve problems effectively with minimal guidance from senior engineers / managers, knowing when to ask for help.
Ability to work effectively to a defined project plan under with guidance from senior engineers / managers. The engineer will be able to determine project priorities and deliver work accordingly.
Ability to provide independent opinions / viewpoints to a problem with sound evidence.
Should have evidence of good written & verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly, concisely & confidently present & articulate ideas to a small peer group. Ability to communicate ideas & concepts clearly.
Willing to receive constructive feedback & coaching, responding in an appropriate & professional manner.
Functions effectively as part of a small team.
Often needs certain amount of task oversight & review, with level reducing as experience increases.
