Our National Accounts team epitomise the entrepreneurial spirit that has defined Dyson since day one: ambitious, commercially savvy, and strategically agile. We work with some of the world’s biggest retailers, implementing the most profitable long-term business plans and driving innovative ways to put our technology into more hands. It requires managing multiple networks of Dyson people. And overseeing many different retail areas – from instore fixtures to online activation. It takes ownership, courage and tough negotiations. Being constantly driven to see clearer solutions and drive better sales.

About the role 

  • Deliver volume sales targets and CAP targets

  • Develop an annual account plan that sets out the key strategic aims for Dyson and the retailer

  • Agree, update, communicate and administer all areas of the promotional planning cycle

  • Manage an A&P budget in line with forecasts and promotional activity

  • Deliver an accurate twelve-month rolling forecast that accounts for; sales trends, promotions, seasonality, distribution changes, NPD and product exits.

  • Understand retailer profitability through the regular use of a margin tracker

  • Achieve the highest standards of execution for the Dyson brand on the Internet and in stores

  • Maximise shopper and consumer understanding through category management

  • Communicate activity to the field regularly through ‘Sales Force Effectiveness’

  • Use data regularly from ‘SFE’ to improve compliance and in store standards

  • Provide the field with the necessary tools to guarantee high levels of execution

  • Ensure that NPD roll out across the retailer is of a high standard

  • Work with ASM’s and engage with field team at in field & in Weekly/monthly meetings

  • Responsibility for conversion on the customer website

  • Deliver compelling, well thought through and inspiring presentations to the retailer

  • Construct ‘Winning Customer proposals’ as part of the Customer Business Meeting Sequence

  • Hold regular face to face meetings with retailer buying Team

  • Organise and deliver Quarterly Business Reviews between senior personnel at Dyson and retailer

  • Work with internal departments to drive through agreed customer initiatives.

  • Effectively manage a network of contacts within Dyson and the retailer across different functions

  • Ensure Supply chain KPI’s and efficiencies are set and delivered against.

  • Align the organisation to your account and negotiation objectives

  • Work to achieve Pan European Pricing Terms within the retailer

  • Communicate and deliver against an agreed timetable

  • Deliver a high quality of work and contributions to Overall Account team, whilst providing day to day guidance and development of direct reports

  • Lead through example and demonstrate leadership in all team meetings

  • Coach and motivate less experienced Account Managers or Territory Sales Managers

  • Line Manage Account Executive and ensure they are developed to their full potential

  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role

  • Fix things that you can see need fixing

  • Identify problems and find solutions

About you 

  • Strong account management experience for a high-profile brand

  • Proven delivery of sales targets

  • Worked with and contributed to a high performing sales team

  • Has been exposed to senior level account negotiations

  • Evidence of Budget control and forecasting across multiple product lines

  • Level of financial acumen and commercial awareness

  • Working knowledge of the Retail industry, either with an electrical manufacturer or other

  • Strategic planning capability

  • High level of communication skills both verbal and written

  • Excellent relationship builder
