Dyson is rapidly expanding; in its new and core categories, and across all of its global markets. The next five years are going to be Dyson’s biggest and busiest yet. By 2025, there will be 100 new machines, 3 new product portfolios and Dyson’s headcount will have grown. With this pace of growth, these ambitious plans, and the complexities of global expansion, it is natural that Dyson is now thinking about the best ways to organise itself and manage its exciting new product ranges to best effect.

Connectivity gives us a unique platform to provide differentiating experiences for our Owners through the Dyson Link App. However, we need to manage this ambition in a more efficient and agile way, bringing new technology to markets faster, reacting to Owner expectations quicker and leading the market in more innovative ways.

About the role

Dyson Connectivity is responsible for defining a world-class Connected strategy, product and owner experience in the Dyson Link App, to help take this amazing technology to market, explaining how our machines are different and their benefits. Where we demonstrate our machines and their superiority we win. Where we solve owner problems at speed, first time we win. But we also want to prevent issues from happening by analysing the data from sensors in our machines and the owner profiles we hold. We are also responsible for the development and delivery of the Connected features within the Dyson Link App and Cloud.

The next period of Dyson’s growth will see us taking our technology into more markets, doubling the business and quadrupling Direct. It will see our Owner base grow rapidly to 100m and a focus on both acquiring more Owners and retaining the Owners we have.

Connectivity will rely heavily on harnessing the power of data to provide insights back to the various areas of the business – NPI, RDD, Customer Services, Owner experience and GTM teams, to help make data-based decisions. Connectivity will also help us provide a more agile, mission based operating model. One which will enable us to continue our journey but in a more structured and efficient ways.

We are on an exciting Connected journey where our emphasis is around providing a better owner experience for our Owners. To this end, we are investing heavily in bringing together machine, app and owner data to bring bespoke recommendations – whether it be in help/support/guidance/repair/parts/machines – to our owners when they need it. 

You will be supporting the development of the strategy for our Connected services, including robust business casing. This will include the modelling of benefits as well as the tracking of their realisation.

You will contribute to develop the Connected roadmap assessing new opportunities for the technology such as OTA updates, new features in-life and new Business models options while monitoring new technology trends and competitor releases. You will also lead stand-alone regional analysis working with the local leadership to deepen our understanding of their specificities (e.g. China).

You will be supporting the creation and development of key content for senior reviews with our Leadership, and will be offering Connected Planning & Development capabilities in Dyson Global HQ for the eastern time zone.


  • Support Business casing for Connectivity

  • Maintain a repository of all benefits including inputs from other Business areas such as NPI/NPD, IT, Regions - analytics, Customer Service, App usage /conversion etc.

  • Financial Benchmarking and analysis

  • Monitor Benefits realisation & define the relevant KPIs, linking with the Central transformation team to feed into their wider benefits realisation initiative

  • Contribute to Categories Business cases to ensure a consistent approach is taken to value connected features

  • Support the development of a Connected strategy that is actionable

  • Monitor Market & trends to give the Dyson App a central place in the users’ smart ecosystems

  • Support the valuation and development of new Connected Business Models and monetisation proposals

  • Support the production of key content for senior reviews such as internal updates, monthly steercos, Boards meetings etc.

  • Collaborate across functions, gathering inputs while ensuring knowledge is shared and priorities are aligned

  • Being a very safe pair of hands – your numbers and outputs will go straight to the top, being used by the VP of Connectivity to share with our ExCo / NED members

  • A champion of connectivity benefits and principles as well as our core Dyson Values, communicating them across the wider business.

About you

  • Similar Business Analyst or Business Consultant role likely to be at least 5 years

  • Track record of managing complex excel modelling, combined with structured analysis and planning experience

  • Delivered projects or complex business analysis

  • Have the ability to assimilate data to enable business and strategic decision making

  • Can step back and question the outcome of their work – does it make sense, does it tell a story, is it readily accessible and useable?

  • Self-starter, with the ability to drive value out of their tasks in autonomy and prioritise their work

  • Excellent written communication skills, with an eye for detail creating presentations

  • A good understanding of Connectivity, Digital or premium consumer goods landscapes would be preferred
