About the team
The Finance team manages and balances complex budgets for our global business across multiple regions and sites. This role is part of the Global Overheads and Capex team under Group Finance, reporting into Head of Finance and will cover all aspects of the finance cycle. The team is a strategic financial business partner, to proactively manage spend for the function and support decision making to achieve Dyson’s business ambition.
About the role
Part of the Global Overheads and Capex Team.
Strategic financial business partner to proactively manage Capex and Opex spend for Estates and Facilities team under Group Support Function.
Create an efficient and effective financial steer of Capex and Opex for the function and elevate financial capabilities to support decision making and achieve Dyson’s business ambition.
Leads the quarterly reforecast and annual budgeting process for the function. Provides the financial perspective to help the function understand cost trends and support decision making in spend vs trade-offs; balancing cost, benefit and affordability.
Engages with managers to understand the spend profile and identify financial spend opportunities and provide suggestions to mitigate financial risks.
Responsible for the monthly close process from accruals to active cost monitoring of actuals vs plan and identification and explanation of key cost variances.
Engages directly with functional managers / leads (Senior Managers / Head-ofs) to review monthly actual financial performance. Prepares and presents the monthly reporting pack for function leaders and analyzes the spend trend.
Understand current processes and propose improvement(s) for greater efficiency and increase financial transparency.
Ability to influence a value conscious mindset across functional teams.
Work closely with internal Finance Team to facilitate stakeholder’s business requirements from the Finance community.
Leverage on OneStream, SAP and Looker tools to extract data, develop forecast and perform trends analysis with an eye on business objectives and context.
Drives financial analysis of efficiency and transformational projects on an ad-hoc basis.
About You
Qualified Accountant or equivalent post graduate qualification.
At least 5 years of PQE.
Proactive in nature and propose ideas for improvement.
Excellent personal and business presentation skills. Ability to present financial information to non-finance managers and directors.
Naturally Inquisitive - comfortable and willing to interrogate existing datasets for answers but accepts that not every query has an immediate answer.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good spoken and written English.
