Lead Frontend Engineer

Dyson’s multidisciplinary Energy Storage development team is responsible for delivering cells from early prototypes in the UK, through to volume manufacture in a Singapore plant. 

The cells that the team delivers will push the boundaries of performance, power density, and efficiency. These cells will drive new high value Dyson products with step improvements over our competitors. 

As a Frontend Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing software solutions that elevate our project to new heights. Collaborating closely with the project team and external stakeholders, your expertise will ensure that our software solutions exceed requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, and security. 

In this role, you will be a key player in crafting software solutions and integrations for an array of manufacturing equipment, sensors, and enterprise systems. Your creative flair will shine as you contribute to Proof of Concepts (POCs) that drive innovation, collaboration, and the maturation of new capabilities. 

About the role 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, backend developers, and stakeholders, to design and implement robust frontend applications using React, HTML5, and CSS3. 
• Use Design Thinking to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that align with UI/UX design principles. 
• Work closely with backend engineers to ensure seamless API integration and end-to-end functionality. 
• Embrace your creative instincts to contribute to Proof of Concepts (POCs) that foster innovation and advance our capabilities. 
• Leverage your exceptional communication skills to work with stakeholders across the globe, and to clearly document your work. 

About you  

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, focusing on frontend development using React and backend integration. 
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to craft compelling and responsive user interfaces. 
• Experience in API integration and connecting diverse Enterprise applications. 
• Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles, enabling the creation of intuitive and visually captivating interfaces. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Proven ability to manage tasks, delegate when appropriate, and facilitate collaboration across teams. 
• Enthusiasm for innovation, staying updated with the latest tools and techniques, and integrating them into projects.
