Being a pivotal role in the concept to production of a Dyson Designed Cell puts the Development team at the heart of this exciting journey. The team will translate early concept directions into fully developed, optimised & validated solutions to make at high volume for the next generation of Dyson products.
About the role
Lead anode development to achieve project goal and on-time milestone deliverables, in a collaboration with the different stakeholders.
Conduct formulation design, proof of concept DoE, down selection, process scale up and materials/semi product analysis whilst studying of various anode materials and their technical roadmaps and strategy.
Work with cell design team and material suppliers to develop anode materials & electrode in design compatibility and prospect for promising suppliers in business-wise perspective.
Come up with technical solution in an anode formulation to promise certain cell chemistry and process feasibility, data driven proof in reliable size by utilization and invention of effective methodologies
Identify and generate new ideas to strengthen intellectual properties, by developing your own as well as the group’s expertise in this field, exploring new techniques and contribute to the growth of the knowledge domain.
Collaborate with multi-functional internal stake holders and external relations in all aspects of new cell platform development.
Over 5 years' industrial experience in the area of material development of energy storage such as material evaluation and implantation, supplier audit and PPAP or having directly been hired by material manufacturer.
Technical mastery of anode materials including natural/artificial graphite, silicon based active materials, material design development and production process, analytical techniques, and anode design (material and electrode)-property-performance correlation.
Demonstrate deep expertise in identifying promising materials and accelerating development cycle time. Track record of innovation and creativity in solving technical challenges
Significant experience developing collaboration strategy and leading execution of collaborations with anode suppliers.
Experience and familiarity with full cell design, cathode-anode-electrolyte interactions, cell testing and diagnosing problems in anode systems related to issues caused by process and semi product’s quality is a strong plus.
Appreciation of relevant Battery technology or battery products across the industry.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
When required, travel to other Dyson facilities in Asia/UK for project engineering build support.
