About the role

We are looking for a talented Lead Project Manager to come join the Programme Management function in Dyson’s Design and Product Experience (D&PE) team. This exciting position will be based in our Hullavington Campus (UK) spanning our HMI, Connected Features (UX) and UI teams with creative designers both in the UK and Singapore.

The role of Lead Project Manager is to ensure that our Product Experience and UI functions are working together on the right projects at the right time, that they have a clear scope and deadline to work towards and that they have all the tools to meet their deliverables across a large portfolio of projects. It will be important to work closely with the Programme Manager and other PMs to align across the design functions and work together to communicate to the wider business our status and understand where we might have resourcing constraints. This role interfaces with many stakeholders across the business, spanning functions from NPI and Research into NPD, commercial and our SEA teams.

Our briefs can often be loose and changeable, so you must be comfortable in a fast moving, ambiguous environment. Skills in managing a dynamic environment will be critical to the role.

The responsibilities are as follows:

  • Management of cross-functional teams, leading daily and weekly stand up meetings.

  • Prioritisation of own and others work according to a changing business environment.

  • Working with designers and leads to break projects down in to work packages and plan these into sprints.

  • Manage resource allocation activities against current time plans.

  • Strong stakeholder communications, reporting weekly and daily to senior management.

  • Management of the upstream delivery of creative intent as well as final production assets.

  • Working in a two-week sprint cycles and continuously pushing the team to deliver to each project stage gate.

  • Shaping the use of Agile principles and methodologies within the team.

  • Helping to define the methods, processes and principles for the HMI, Connected Features and UI teams.

  • Ensuring the design outputted is best in class at all times and is delivered on time and to the correct requirements of stakeholders.

  • Help to define and implement D&PE’s project governance policies and best practises.

  • Promote Project Management principles and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and development of D&PE’s PM capability.

About you

  • A level of formal Project Management qualification (e.g. APMP, PRINCE2, Agile).

  • Outstanding project management capabilities.

  • 5+ years working experience, within a product development environment, with a demonstrable knowledge of the product lifecycle.

  • Experience in Agile delivery as well as more traditional project management methodologies.

  • In depth understanding and application of business processes, project governance methods and operational/development framework.

  • Experience of working in creative teams.

  • Self-motivated, positive, proactive and motivational toward others

  • Ability to constantly multi-task, and prioritise own and others work according to a changing business environment.
