About the role

Reporting to the New Product Quality Manager, this role primarily concerns supplier quality assessment, supplier quality development and supplier quality management across multiple suppliers on product development projects pre-launch.  This role also presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team in a new Dyson location in the Philippines.  


  • Scope: Target Set (TS) to Engineering Release (ER) milestones for a number of projects

  • Lead Supplier quality capability assessment and quality input to sourcing decisions, including quality audits and robust qualification process.

  • Lead delivery of New Product Supplier Quality deliverables across multiple suppliers on a number of Dyson projects and report supplier quality readiness at project milestones

  • Lead development of improved New Product Quality reliability capability across multiple suppliers, including requirements, technical risk management and test methods

  • Lead development of improved New Product Quality manufacturing capability across multiple suppliers, including DFA/M, process flow, process risk assessment, variation control and process capability

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure that all risks to supply chain and manufacturing quality are understood and mitigated, and to ensure Dyson engineering design/ performance requirements can be achieved through supplier capability

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify and outline critical to quality control points and characteristics. 

  • Lead process of continuous learning to ensure improvement actions in supplier operations on existing products are fed into update requirements/ D/PFMEA/ test methods to prevent recurrence on future projects

About you


  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a supplier quality improvement/ development/ assurance role and strong technical background in product development and/ or engineering quality gained from successfully leading or being part of teams delivering engineering projects from Design & Development to Operations

  • Supplier quality auditor qualification and demonstrable experience of quality audits

  • Experience of automotive or medical or other industry supplier product quality maturation processes (e.g. APQP, Maturity Level Assurance) and quality management systems (e.g. IATF 16949, VDA 6) not essential but desirable.

  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of deploying critical-to-quality engineering tools including engineering requirements, technical risk management (e.g. DFMEA) and engineering verification method development and assurance

  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of deploying critical-to-quality engineering & operations tools including process risk management (e.g. PFMEA), tolerance analysis, controlling variation of critical characteristics, improving process capability, control plans and achieving fully capable production sign off.

  • Experience in working in an environment where specification and process are not always predetermined.

Education qualifications:

  • Good (2.1 or better) degree in a science, manufacturing or engineering discipline.
