Based in the Dyson Research Design & Development department, the main responsibilities for this role will be to work as part of the Technical Training Team in ensuring our RDD Teams have the capabilities they need to develop our products. You will manage, design, develop and deliver training and continual assessment of technical training to RDD staff. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Work with Heads of Department to create, analyse and deliver subsequent training
  • Work with stakeholder groups within RDD to gather requirements for the creation of new training programmes
  • Work to evolve how we deliver  training through improving our use of MS Teams, Cornerstone and Articulate 360
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance to design and develop training programs based on RDD training needs analysis and business needs
  • Work closely with Training Coordinator in organizing internal training workshops on a regular basis or when required
  • Work as part of a global team to ensure global consistency in process and training content to ensure global consistency in working practices within RDD
  • Prepare continual improvement assessments to evaluate RDD performance & capability
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure technical training is aligned with the business
  • Mentor internal Subject Matter Experts (SME) to be able to conduct internal training
  • Organise, deliver and complete Induction training when required

Skills Knowledge & Experience:

  • Detailed knowledge of tools and techniques used throughout  the product development process which may include some of the following: Tolerance Analysis, Requirements, FMEA, DFA, DFM, CAE, 3D CAD & PLM
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation skills and the ability to communicate internationally are essential
  • Good technical writing
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team (Interpersonal skills)
  • Good IT skills including MS Office
  • At least 4 years engineering or related subject experience
  • Previous experience of delivering training is desirable but not essential
  • Experience in manufacturing environment is desirable

Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering / Industrial / Product Design or equivalent
