Dyson has always pioneered ground-breaking new technology. Now we’re making it even smarter, to deliver amazing, fully-integrated experiences for our owners across the globe – we’re now in over 40 markets. As part of this, we’re developing increased connectivity for our machines and devices, centred around the MyDyson app.
The content we create has to be developed with the same precision and care as our technology. We’re looking for dedicated Senior UX Copywriters (various levels available) with experience of UX writing, preferably for apps, to work in our Connected Experience Design team.
You’ll be a native English speaker thinker, able to find clever ways with words to make UX more intuitive and informative for Dyson owners across the MyDyson app. As a fundamental part of the team, you’ll work closely with designers, developers, engineers and other UX writers on existing and new categories, to excite Dyson owners and help them access and engage with our technology.
Reporting to the Head of Connected Experience Design, you’ll also have a dotted line into the Group Copy team, to enable your work to tie into Dyson’s overall tone of voice and owner experience.
About the role
The following will be a core part of your role:
Take briefs for the products and technologies you’re writing about and plan how to execute them.
Collaborate closely with people across the business to solve problems and deliver a seamless experience.
Build a thorough understanding of the Dyson story – our heritage, our philosophy, how we talk about ourselves.
Contribute to the overall Dyson tone of voice, writing copy based in fact, scientific principles and clear consumer benefits – not marketing jargon or spin.
Take responsibility for the basics – grammar, spellchecking and proofing work prior to production – including working with localisation partners to support multiple languages.
Share your knowledge within the Connected and Copy teams, to constantly improve copy and UX at Dyson.
Present work to brief owners and senior stakeholders – articulating ideas and confidently defending proposals with reasoned and evidenced arguments.
An inherent understanding of UX and writing for apps, to engage and encourage interaction leading to measurable results.
Good knowledge of a digital/app design and development process
Ability to quickly develop an understanding of Dyson, its engineering ethos and visual identity and to judge what makes a good Dyson owner experience.
Confident and articulate, you’ll be able to present your work with passion and enthusiasm, supporting your thinking with both clear rationale and creative expression.
Excellent copywriting, editing, and literacy skills, including spelling and grammar, with an obsessive eye for detail.
Experience of working in integrated teams in an agency, in-house or freelance environment.
Able to question a brief and highlight key creative challenges or opportunities.
Knowledge and understanding of performance and analytical tools.
Experience of working within an Agile environment.
You’ll be familiar with catering for experiences that will be presented in multiple languages (30+ in total).
Native English speaker, or Mother tongue fluency in English. Other languages are a bonus.
Dyson Singapore monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and bonuses. Beyond that, you’ll enjoy a transport allowance and comprehensive medical care and insurance. But financial benefits are just the start of a Dyson career. Professional growth, leadership development and new opportunities abound, driven by regular reviews and dynamic workshops. And with a vibrant culture, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to fuelling and realising ambition. #LI-DYSON
