About Us

The Lifecycle Product Cost Finance Team is responsible to initiate, plan, drive lifecycle cost saving programs in Dyson along with cross-functional teams for all product range. High level of business partnerships with Designers, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain.

We are a small but growing team, with a very flat structure and make a significant impact on Dyson profitability. We are looking for an experience Lifecycle Product Cost Manager to join our team.The role reports into Head of Finance, Lifecycle Cost.

About The Role

  • Your role will involve organizing and implementing cross-functional cost workshops and cost workstreams to achieve Lifecycle Cost Team’s strategic objectivities and saving targets.

  • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (Designers, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and Finance) for Competitor products teardown and cost benchmark analysis to identify cost saving opportunities.

  • Responsible to drive Lifecycle product cost governance, cost transparency, optimize cost, maximize efficiencies, and make recommendations to achieve profitability targets.  

  • Responsible for providing monthly saving of actual versus forecast for all cost types, report monthly result, and communicate at cost forum to business partners.

  • Responsible to provide cost analysis impact and risk-opportunities tracking in lifecycle LX projects.

  • Governance of detailed “Should Cost” to validate supplier quotes and ensure target cost is achievable.

  • Able to evaluate multiple cost down idea and “Make” vs “Buy” analysis.

  • Bonus with Value-Engineering experienced and knowledge.  

  • Drive data accuracy and process efficiency in the change management (CR-CN) process.

  • Drive continuous improvement throughout data, process, and people.

  • Communicate with impact and create a sense of urgency and responsibility to address cost challenges.

About You

  • An engineering/manufacturing/cost accounting degree with previous experience and at least 7-8 years in a relevant work experience.

  • Working experience in Consumer Products Industry and/or Technology business.

  • Strong Drive for Results – Deliver on commitments in a timely manner; proactively work on process improvements and understanding the business.

  • Ability to both think strategically and operationalize those strategic plans into execution plans with clear set of KPI to drive towards success.

  • Strong communication skill – Ability to communicate across different levels and functions (verbal, written and presentations).

  • Change management – Ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment and challenge status quo.

  • Possess strong business acumen and work well in a cross-functional team.

  • Demonstrable strong analytical ability to provide cost insight and actionable deliverables.

  • Energized by solving problems by bringing people with competing goals to the same table to achieve a common goal.
