About the role

Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the Logistics Engineering Manager contributes to the Logistics development of the region with leading the improvement and standardization of warehousing operations across the regional network, with focus on performance, cost and sustainability in line with the global safety, security and quality standards. He/she  will ensure that the long-term strategy for the region is supported by the  Logistics provider base and will work on increasing capability both internally and externally via various process and system improvement projects to achieve the ambitious growth targets.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop, deploy, and audit Global Standard Operating Procedures and for all supply chain fulfilment responses related to warehousing operations. Standardize deployment and configuration of 3PL WMS integration to Dyson SAP
  • Execute against footprint optimisation requirements driven by global network modelling
  • Validation and network maintenance of product master data for logistics
  • Monitor KPIs for third party partners and work collaboratively on performance improvement initiatives to deliver annual cost saving targets
  • Develop a deep understanding of logistics cost to serve in the region, and the levers that are available to reduce this, or to maximise service level
  • Maintain globally acknowledged safety, security, and quality standards in line with the global discipline leads

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the implementation of the Logistics strategy
  • Work with the market Logistics leads to ensure warehouse processes are adequately documented, training developed, and periodically audited.  Work collaboratively to ensure the team adheres to agreed processes and rules of engagement
  • Translate distribution center requirements associated with network modelling recommendations into project plans and business case scenarios
  • Source automation opportunities to improve resilience and efficiency
  • Deploy standardized processes for distribution center setup, scope changes, decommissioning, and consolidation
  • Track and document best practices in warehouse processes, systems, and optimization and share with global network
  • Work with IT to develop standard integration for all 3PL operations
  • Represent Global Supply Chain in the region as when required in forums/discussions/seminars
  • Formalize and communicate core warehouse L&ND working processes
  • Work with global SME’s to ensure delivery and sustainability of key Global Standard Operating Procedures in all operations to drive standardization
  • Develop a high-performance service culture within the logistics department that is focused on delighting customers in collaboration with Customer Delivery Experience leader
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department
  • Ensure Continuous Improvement mentality is championed and implemented in Market Logistics teams.  Ensure Logistics processes are optimised, documented and followed
  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Management, Global Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse management
  • Project management and project sponsor experience essential
  • Strong understanding of a matrixed network a definite plus
  • Value Added Services experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of carbon efficiency in transportation
  • Demonstratable understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Financially savvy with Business Case experience
  • Vendor management experience (3PL)
  • P&L competent
  • Attention to details without losing bigger picture
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines
