Manager, Product Lifecycle Framework Design

Dyson’s Delivery & Integration Office (DDIO) sits centrally within Dyson focused on driving excellence in Product Delivery; developing capabilities, independently governing ways of working and providing data driven insight to ensure project teams can deliver with efficiency, agility & focus. As the size of Dyson’s Product Development Portfolio increases, the Product Lifecycle and In-Life Frameworks, and the programme of activity to develop them, needs to be well defined, coordinated and highly visible. The frameworks need to be designed to be as simple as possible, balancing the needs of the business with streamlined governance, and enabling agility and scalability in its deployment.

About the role

This role focuses on the delivery and ongoing evolution of the frameworks, their policies and processes to guide project delivery across all Business Units globally.


  • Sell the Vision for the Frameworks and their governance; Why we need them, What they are, How they function, and which teams and individuals engage with them.

Framework Design

  • Design the frameworks; must constantly improve to meet evolving business requirements

  • Develop and continually improve governance design across the lifecycle; work across all contributing functions to ensure that the work packages required for each milestone are well defined, understood and expectations are set

  • Ensure that functions have transparent evidence to substantiate project status and health

  • Develop and implement new Policy and Process to enable effective product development to streamline bureaucracy and simplify process, and improve governance throughout the lifecycle

  • Integrate across functions; almost all functions in Dyson contribute towards product development, so it is imperative that functional contribution is coherent and aligned


  • Develop improved communication material to ensure awareness of new policy and process

  • Develop new training materials to set clear expectations for Milestone requirements

  • Provide guidance and training to project leadership  enabling their engagement, use and application of the framework to deliver


  • Build positive relations with stakeholders representing all areas of the business

  • Work across DDIO,  Business Units and functions to understand their visions and delivery commitments.

About you

Professional experience / Skills

  • Broad understanding of product & capability development

  • Experience of project and programme delivery

  • Cross-functional experience is desired

  • Experience of working with multiple senior stakeholders

  • Managing expectations and working with diverse groups of stakeholders

  • Experience of Portfolio reporting, and leadership decision making is desired

  • Adept at following a project management methodology

  • Change Management – comfortable and competent at managing change, bringing team and stakeholders along

  • Resilience and composure to guide projects and teams through arising issues, overcoming challenges to deliver high quality business outcomes

  • Integrity and assertiveness; willing to communicate all relevant information including perceived ‘bad news’ and hold teams to account to deliver
