Dyson Marketing Team; Japan
Dyson’s in-house marketing team includes brand and product marketing, in-store and digital marketing, insights as well as our own in-house media and creative functions. The 50-strong team oversees the unique positioning of Dyson’s technology campaigns in Japan, using attuned local insights, bespoke creative and planning execution from media, to events, in-store and online; in close collaboration with our Head Office.

About the role

Market Insights Executive will be responsible for....

  • Investigate and capture market insights through analysis of sales progress and competitor activities
  • Track and evaluate/ analyse key sales and market indicators to be more actionable for marketing and management teams
  • Working closely with other teams, integrate consumer indicators, sales data and market information, so that marketing and management teams can identify issues and opportunities quickly and take actions to improve the business
  • Explore and reveal consumer insights through planning/ executing research projects, while working closely with Japan teams/ HQ teams
  • Manage consumer research projects (both qualitative and quantitative) from planning based on the research needs to writing reports/ debriefing to stakeholders
  • Select/ Manage external research agencies based on the research requirement
  • Lead global Brand Health tracking study from Japan perspective
  • Manage regular feed of voice-of-customers to HQ teams, which informs future product development
  • Leading role in insight tools/ platforms management – e.g. sales data dashboard, internal insight depository, etc.

About You 

  • Around 2-3 years of experience in market research (either client side or agency side)
  • Ability to lead and independently manage both quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Ability to write analysis reports for those quantitative/ qualitative research projects, and to debrief stakeholders
  • Strong skill in MS Office (in particular Excel), and willingness to learn other platforms
  • Strong analytical thinking capability to find key insights to improve business from market data/ consumer researches
  • Aptitude for thinking flexibly and willing to think beyond conventional methodologies/ approaches
  • Ability to work effectively and closely with other members of the team and across multiple teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, and deliver results to deadlines
  • Native in Japanese + Fluent in English (able to execute projects/ write reports/ present findings/ discuss next steps with Japan teams and HQ teams)
  • University graduate (undergraduate or above)
