As a key member of the Korea Leadership team, the role is pivotal to develop, drive and deliver the Korea marketing strategy.  The role will manage the Marketing P&L and deliver effective & creative solutions to resolve business issues with its 5 teams (Floor Care, Personal Care, Environmental Care, Insights, Media).  The primary objective of the Marketing Director is to develop and execute marketing strategy that will grow the Korea business.  The role requires excellent communication skills to engage with Group Marketing but execution will remain the responsibility of the Marketing Director

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES (and supporting activities):

1. Devise and drive execution of marketing and communications strategies to deliver the Korea P&L

  • Develop one year and three-year marketing and communications plan for Korea.

  • Drive the team for flawless execution

  • Advocate the measurement of the performance of all activities to prove business benefit.

  • Deliver financial objectives through careful budget management and effective promotional support.

2. Build an engaged and talented team

  • Engage, lead, Inspire people through regular feedback, 1:1’s PDP’s and clear objectives.

  • Manage / Innovate processes to ensure that the team can meet business goals.

  • Identify gaps in knowledge and skills in the team and build appropriate solutions.

  • Develop talent succession plans, driving team growth and talent development.

3. Own brand development, advertising, and media in the Korea market for business growth

  • Work closely with Group Marketing to influence global decisions from Korean perspective.

  • Push the boundaries with Advertising creative and PR and Media planning to improve reach and conversion.

  • Actively engage with the Group Brand and Insight teams to drive the Korea agenda.

  • Formulate launch and execution strategies for new products, managing seasonal peaks.

4. Lead the Korea communication agenda for both on and offline

  • Deliver internal strategy, communication and leadership within the Korea business and the wider Dyson group, globally where appropriate.

  • Partner with Sales teams to deliver appropriate messaging and tagging to ensure we meet our volume and mix targets, ensuring alignment of activity and resources.

  • Work with the sales teams to deliver exceptional and differentiated communication strategies in new distribution channels, driving sustainable profitable growth.

  • Deliver better, richer online assets improving the customer journey and helping us win customers online.

5. Ensure that consumer insight drives all Korea business decisions

  • Deliver focused consumer insights that fuel business growth.

  • Drive the assessment and analysis of competitor activity to ensure Dyson stays ahead of the pack.

  • Ensure that all research is well communicated and readily accessible to all.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • An excellent marketer with both trade and product experience and significant experience leading a team at a senior level

  • Strong commercial orientation with a proven P&L track record

  • Good balance between Operational and creative

  • Led large projects

  • Proven success at managing complex portfolio of products

  • Evidence of budget control and strong with numbers

  • Strong CRM and online experience

  • Degree of 2:1 or above, preferably graduate of business studies/economics/arts subject or related

  • High level of English communication skills both verbal and written

  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship skills see you as a highly respected coach and advisor

  • Strong leadership; builds capability and coaches both own team as well as Leadership Team

  • Excellent personal and business presentation skills

  • Be able to both see the big picture and manage the delivery of detailed projects

  • Strong on prioritization

  • Decisive and excellent influencer

  • Energetic, engaging and positive approach

  • Enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced team environment; prepare to roll up sleeves and lead the drive for results
