About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Marketing Finance Manager, this position is responsible for accurate and timely completion of Brand Building Investments (BBI) planning and month end close for the US consumer business. This position will work closely with the US Marketing Team providing dedicated support managing expenses and analysis related to ongoing and proposed Brand Building Investments (BBI). In addition to expense management and analysis, this position will help increase the financial acumen of the Marketing Organization through partnering and coaching of basic financial concepts. 

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES  

 

Month End Close, Forecasting and Reporting 

  • Lead monthly forecast meetings with Marketing Leadership Team and prepare accruals for month end close 

  • Update BBI expense tracker to support month end close and monthly forecast process

  • Support Marketing Finance Manager during annual budgeting process maintaining budget templates, analysing year over year trends, and consolidating/implementing feedback from Marketing Leadership team 

  • Reconcile monthly BBI expenses and assist in development and communication of actual performance compared to budget, forecast and year over year results

  • Maintain and update monthly cash forecast for media expenditures

Serve as a business partner to the US Marketing Team 

  • Build strong relationships and provide value added advice to Marketing Team to ensure financial results are well understood and business results optimized 

  • Partner with Marketing Team to ensure expenses are accurately reflected in the BBI expense tracker 

  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested to support marketing investment decisions 

  • Assist Marketing team, when needed, opening purchase orders ensuring compliance to PO best practice guidelines 

Other Requirements 

  • Assist Marketing Finance Manager to think outside the box to identify problems and find solutions that drive efficiency within the Finance and Marketing Organizations 

  • Assist Accounts Receivable and Accounting with resolution of open deductions, accrual questions (when needed) and verifying and troubleshooting balance sheet reconciliations (prepaid and accrued liabilities account) 

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 

  • 2-3 years of experience in an analytical finance role, preferably with experience in a marketing or sales and marketing organization 

  • Prior experience in forecasting/ budgeting/planning processes and reporting / analytics

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills 

  • Ability to independently research and resolve tasks with awareness and motivation to collaborate when necessary 

  • Ability to clearly present and communicate complex data analysis 

  • Advanced knowledge/ proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required 

  • SAP experience preferred 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Adaptable/flexible – able to multi task and manage competing priorities 

  • Confident in building relationships and engaging with non-financial teams 

  • Organized self-starter with strong ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ingenious-empirical, disciplined and a problem solver

  • Attuned-emotionally smart, having positive intent 

  • Shrewd-make sound decisions, long-term commercial thinking 

  • Architect-setting and raising the bar and providing clarity and honest feedback
