About the role

The Marketplace manager will be responsible of managing marketplaces in Germany, delivering ambitious targets, building long-term strategy, and scaling the business for future growth. She/he will be an integral part of the Direct/Digital Sales team and will be involved in all related discussions. She/he will be setting the direction for the team, being accountable for the P&L delivery, managing forecasting and target setting for all accounts. She/he will be working closely with his/her team on execution, planning the trading and marketing activities, ensuring perfect on-site journey, and driving excellence in customer experience. 

Important part of her job is to continuously scan the market and identify new marketplace opportunities and scale the business by opening new marketplaces. She/he will be responsible of establishing relationships with external partners. 

  • Main accountabilities and supporting activities:

  • Setting the direction and ownership of Marketplaces strategy in Germany

  • Being accountable for the P&L delivery

  • Managing monthly forecasting for target setting and involvement in all stock related discussions

  • Identifying new marketplace opportunities and scaling marketplaces in Germany

  • Managing relationships with external partners

  • Driving marketplace best practices and being in constant exchange Group and other markets

  • Driving continuous optimisation for on-site experience and driving excellence in owner experience

  • Managing a team of marketplace executives/graduates 

  • Working together with his/her team to negotiate to get excellent placements, ensure execution of trading and activity plans. Developing marketing and advertising plans together with the team and marketplaces 

  • Understanding the processes, monitoring performance and guiding the team to achieve high seller scores on marketplace accounts

  • Working closely with category teams, operations, finance, customer service teams, and direct/digital teams to achieve ambitious targets and realise growth plans 

About you


  • Has previous experience in e-commerce, even if for a short period of time 

  • Experience of working in a sales driven environment with daily pacing

  • Experience working closely with and partnering with cross functional teams especially, Operations, Category and Creative teams

  • Experience working with external parties 

  • Experience working in a highly dynamic environment


  • Strong commercial acumen with a close attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills to guide business strategy decisions

  • Knowledge and understanding of e-com environment and daily trading or willingness to learn on the job

  • Self-starter who sees things to completion

  • Building strong internal and external relationships with business stakeholders

  • Proven organizational and negotiation skills
