Medical Affairs serves as the scientific bridge between the industry and the wider medical community. This function is uniquely tasked with managing external relationships with key opinion leaders within the scientific community across a range of therapeutic specialisms, as well as with patient-consumer groups, authorities and beyond.
Clinical Affairs are experts in clinical research and by integrating into an innovative engineering company, focus is on designing new methodologies and gathering essential evidence to drive new product category growth.

About the role
Dyson Technology Ltd. are looking for a Medical Excellence Manager to maintain a high-level overview of all medical activities in a Global role. This exciting opportunity will join a new Medical Affairs function within an innovative and pioneering technology organisation who have a wide portfolio of innovative medical devices, cosmetic products and consumer products in new therapy area categories within the company.
Strategic Medical Planning excellence:
Provide constructive feedback on the therapy area Regional medical plans to ensure alignment to overall Global Medical strategy and further enable the medical plan holder to successfully implement agreed activities.
Ensure coordination of local/regional brand planning process in combination with commercial colleagues.
Code & Process compliance:
Bring consistency of interpretation of various codes of practice across the business franchises by (i) acting as advisor to code related matters, (ii) assisting Code related discussion forums, (iii) liaising closely with the Copy Approval Committee to implement consistent use of the copy approval system.
Responsible for ensuring transparency and consistent approach to external customer engagement, grants, sponsorship, Fair Market Value, and Patient-Consumer Support Programs in alignment to relevant Codes/Guidance and Business needs.
Capabilities & Training:
Drive development of Medical Affairs Capabilities.
Ensure functional excellence across the Medical Affairs teams by proposing proven medical methodology, coordinating medical processes and reporting key capability metrics in collaboration with Regional/Global Medical teams.
Drive coaching to improve customer interaction skills of all customer facing individuals within the Medical Department in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Managers.
Drive or support development of training matrices and oversee training requirements in relation to each medical function, medical processes, compliance policies and other relevant SOPs, (e.g., onboarding training, continued development training).
Ensure a high quality and customer focused medical information service with added value to the product categories.
Maintain a high performing Medical Information team with strong integration in the therapeutic areas.
Drive the use of new innovative MI digital platforms across the Global Business.
Deliver input into Global and local Medical Information projects and support the introduction and implementation of global Med Info processes and initiatives Globally.
Ensure very high KPI delivery of team for identifying and reporting adverse events and product quality complaints promptly and appropriately.
Metrics & Activity Reporting:
Steer performance and communication on the value of medical affairs activities with Global cross-functional teams and Regional Medical Affairs & partner functions by timely collection, reporting and aligned interpretation of performance metrics and key activities of the extended Medical department.
Ensure collection of key performance metrics of Regional MSLs through consistent use of CRM system. Align interpretation and use of the metrics between commercial, medical and regional to ensure that appropriate (and compliant) activities within the Global Medical Affairs teams meet business objectives and expectations.
Support to Regional Medical Affairs for the development and local implementation of new tools & systems (CRM, Copy approval, Dashboards, financial reporting).
Ability to accurately interpret data and express findings in a logical, clear and concise manner.
Degree holder in Biological sciences (PhD an advantage).
Minimum 7 years’ experience in Medical Excellence or related Medical Affairs functions.
Experience and knowledge of medical affairs functions.
Proven senior level of skill.
Competence and accountability in previous Medical Information roles within the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices or Cosmetic industries.
Proven experience of relevant compliance codes and guidance for medical devices and cosmetic products.
Good understanding of commercial, medical and regulatory needs within the Medical Device and Cosmetic products.
Experience of US FDA regulations advantageous.
Occasional global travel for KOL engagement and research conferences would be required.
