About the Role

As the National Business Manager you will have a holistic picture of the Australian business, being the category lead and driving Dyson sales volume, revenue, gross margin and market share in that category within Australia. The role is also accountable for the tactical direction and strategic sales plans between Dyson and a relevant retailer (Accounts) at a Head Office level.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-

  • Work with the Sales Director to build and deliver the sales strategy to the broader organisation

  • Strategic business partnering with retailers to deliver growth

  • Lead annual Joint Business Plans (JBP) with top customers

  • Negotiate annual terms and commercial agreements

  • Leading partner relationships to drive win/win outcomes for retailer and Dyson

  • Deliver game changing initiatives that will transform categories

  • Deliver sales (volume and revenue) and gross margin for the account portfolio and category

  • Analyse promotional programs, review elasticity, understand our shoppers and pricing strategy to find more effective ways to deliver our plan

  • Contribute to and implement channel strategies that optimise retail opportunities and Dyson profitability in line with Australian goals

  • Effectively manage promotional spend budget to deliver the best return on investment

  • Build, develop and promote an effective and high performing team

  • Manage costs to maximise profitability across account portfolio and category

  • Understand Dyson’s retailers, their objectives and influence at all levels to deliver account plans and Australia business plans

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring significant commercial experience in consumer goods and have a strong track record of successful category management. You have methodical business planning capabilities and excellent leadership abilities along with high level communication skills both written and verbal. You are a strong team player who is capable of mobilising teams to achieve business plans and a self-starter who sees things to completion.

Previous skills & experience:-

  • Solid management experience possessing both sales leadership and cross functional/general management experience

  • Commercial – sales/marketing experience, preferably in a premium brand

  • Proven delivery of sales results

  • High level experience of customer negotiations and dealings

  • Evidence of budget control and demonstrated financial expertise

  • Degree qualified in a related field

  • Proven people leadership experience

  • Expert Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
