Payroll Manager


Starting salary will be determined based on experience and credentials

About the role

The Payroll Manager will manage all aspects of the payroll process for the America’s region, while maintaining updates to our ADP and Payroll systems, along with providing technical advice and support. 

Additional responsibilities include: 
  • Process bi-weekly payrolls for US offices; semi-monthly payrolls for Canada, and monthly payrolls for Mexico 
  • Proven ability to manage remote employees effectively 
  • Administer off-cycle payroll runs and retro calculations as needed 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as subject matter expert for payroll as it relates to business-led initiatives 
  • Work with managers to make any needed corrections to employee timecards 
  • Validate employee change requests and adjustment calculations to ensure all adjustments are processed consistently and correctly 
  • Process wage garnishment, void and manual checks 
  • Federal, State and local taxation and reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually as needed 
  • Monthly headcount reporting including CDA benefits invoicing 
  • Local and global payroll reporting requirements including 401k reporting for US 
  • Launch tax administration for employee’s annual tax forms as issued via payroll provider 
  • Administration of Unemployment Insurance rates 
  • Train new starters/managers on HRIS/Payroll/Time and Attendance systems 
  • Address employee questions concerning pay and payroll deductions 
  • Work with ADP and vendors on payroll related issues; including Benefits and Retirement funding 
  • Responsible for payroll audit across the region 
  • Special projects as needed 

About you

  • 3+ years of experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees 
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is preferred 
  • Knowledge and experience with US, CDA and MX payroll practices preferred, US and CDA required 
  • Experience with MS Office – including excellent Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) / PowerPoint skills 
  • Supervisory or Management experience  
  • Experience managing external partner relationships effectively 
  • 1 - 2 years HRIS experience; experience within Workday preferred 
  • Degree educated or equivalent work experience 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills catering to audiences at different management levels and cross-functionally across teams 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required  
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines as well as successfully prioritize multiple task at a fast-paced environment
