We are the Perceived Quality team within New Product Quality at Dyson. Our team works collaboratively with design, engineering and research teams to deliver products with elevated levels of perceived quality.
We endeavour to understand what influences user perception of quality through the application of user research methodologies. Communicating this research as valuable insights that engages with the design and engineering teams.
We are engaged across multiple products and categories at Dyson evaluating the quality of designs as well as defining and delivering robust and repeatable design and engineering solutions across whole products.
About the role
You will lead user research to generate insights into the user perception of quality
Analyse competitor design performance
Communicate research insights to the wider design and engineering teams
Support engineering in the development of subjective/objective product targets
Evaluate design concepts, prototype rigs and production builds against user perception insights identifying opportunities and risks to user perception
Lead/support the resolution of perceived quality opportunities and risks
About you
You possess a keen eye for attention to detail and strong design aesthetic empathy
Demonstratable interest in products that deliver user centric solutions
An inquisitive desire to understand users and how they interact with products
You may have experience in any of the following: perceived quality, craftsmanship, design quality, design execution, industrial design, design engineering, user research
Experience in applying problem-solving skills
Well organised, flexible and able to manage priorities in a fluid, dynamic environment
Comfortable with collaborating with and supporting the project teams
Creative, highly motivated and positive minded
Confident in presentations and storytelling, able to engage audiences and drive excitement
