About the role
Purpose of the Role
Dyson India is in a very exciting stage with plans for huge investment and acceleration in market. This is a very strategic, high impact and visibility role which is pivotal for accelerating Dyson’s growth in the country.The Planning manager supports, challenges and drives the quality of the forecast, and is responsible for overall availability and overall efficiency and driving solutions for optimised supply chain costs. Strong market understanding and relationships, people leadership and execution skills are key success competencies of the role.
Position Summary - Key Responsibilities
§ Partner with other departments within the Market (particularly Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Management) on monthly and yearly demand plans
§ Manages, challenges and evaluates the assumptions for Forecast adjustments, promotional uplifts and NPD(New Product Development) ramp up plans
§ Acts as a liaison between the Market and the Global Forecast & Demand Planning Centre of Excellence on the statistical baseline, short term Demand signals and Process improvement
§ Uses the Markets Commercial Planning, Management insights, NPD updates, Group Consensus Forecast and own insights to create and own the final Forecast to be submitted as part of IBP process
§ Prepares and leads the demand review meetings in the markets, including the Final demand review meeting where the MD signs of the demand plan
§ Lead Local processes collaborating with all the relevant stakeholders across departments
§ Performs Root Cause Analysis on the Forecast Accuracy and Bias performance, formulates and follows up on corrective and preventive actions
§ Coordinate with the supply teams based out of the overseas production units to discuss on the supply plans to ensure timely supply as per the demand
§ Ensure demand-supply balance (DSB) across DC locations to ensure customer service levels are met
§ Drives value-added activities end-to-end including procurement of required packaging materials etc. basis the shared plans
§ Improvement of the spares and accessories planning by working on the demand plan and supply across DC locations to help in the overall cost optimization
§ Analyze risk and opportunities and work on measures to improve the working capital
§ Responsible for continuously improve the existing forecasting and supply planning processes with better digitized/IT solutions
SKILLSET & BEHAVIOURS
§ Firm understanding of different (statistical) forecasting methodologies
§ Good understanding of different viewpoints within the Forecast creation process and ability mediate and translate these into the best possible Forecast
§ Ability to effectively communicate and challenge assumptions with different functional areas and levels within the organisation
§ Taking ownership of the final Forecast and continuous improvement of the Forecast Accuracy and Bias
§ Strong in data analytics
§ Excellent communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED WORKING EXPERIENCE:
§ MBA with 7-10 years’ experience in Supply and Demand Planning in consumer goods/eCommerce industry
§ Forecast Accuracy and Bias Supply Availability vs Plan
§ Inventory Health/Fill rates/ Inventory costs
§ Effectively bridge the different functionalities and viewpoints
