About the role
As an Principal Engineer within the Design & Engineering function based at based at St James Power Station, you will be joining an innovative & dynamic team, supporting the realisation and growth of a new product category for Dyson.
You will use your design engineering expertise to identify & resolve complex technical challenges in partnership with stakeholders from cross functional teams.
You will work autonomously & proactively to identify technical risks within projects. Using strong negotiation, communication & influencing skills you will work with cross-functional teams to come to a resolution on time, & to cost & quality targets. As a technical leader You will disseminate knowledge, & drive best practice, whilst role modelling Dyson values and helping to create a high-performance culture.
Responsibilities include:
Identifying & assessing technical risk, defining development plans, and reporting against project risk.
Actively participating as adviser in design/technical reviews.
leading the design & testing of robust solutions.
Leading complex technical challenges, & the resolution of technical issues.
Working alongside RDD teams to produce exciting and disruptive products on specification, cost, and time.
About you
A relevant degree in an Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, Scientific discipline or equivalent.
Have a strong academic or technical background and are proactive in the development of knowledge both internally and externally.
Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skill.
Previous experience in design, development, and delivery of Consumer/ Robotic / and or Regulated products is desirable.
Knowledge and application of a systems engineering approach to design.
