The core engineering processes are mission critical within PD capability landscape. The PD Architecture team sit at the heart of this within the central Delivery and Integration Office. We work with representatives from global teams across the company to relentlessly improve everything we do in line with the business vision.
About the role
Reporting to the Global Head of Business Architecture, this role will be the global process owner, unify the process strategy and energise the implementation plan across RDD & Operations business functions globally, This position will work very closely with the Quality and Training departments in aligning the delivery of the end-to-end roadmap for improving product quality.
Provide thought leadership and be responsible for the converting the strategic business vision into a series of large transformational and/or continuous improvement activities. Captured in a road map that is backed up with a multi-year plan, in turn underpinned by a series of fully resourced and prioritised projects.
Own the vision for Risk Management and FMA across all invested stakeholders and ensure compatibility of application throughout the product lifecycle.
To strengthen and leverage our strategic partnerships for the benefit of the business and push for the Dyson implementation of their toolset to be the best in the world.
Own and change manage a roadmap that turbocharges Risk Management and FMA and embeds best practices into business as usual in how we develop products.
Form an effective partnership with the digital teams (IT) to ensure the infrastructure, connection to the vendors and access to the relevant application’s development community.
Align across communities of practice that feed coherent road maps and drive the embedding of improvements into PD activities and drive awareness to the wider community.
You will be recognised as credible contributor in your field with an expert knowledge and have a good understanding of Product Development best practices.
Technical, personal and leadership credibility to work effectively with cross functional RDD teams, other business functions and business leaders. Comfortable working autonomously to resolve complex challenges where no precedent exists.
Excellent stakeholder management, with experience dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders from Chief level to engineers on the ground. Understanding of the correct message for different stakeholders.
You will have a proven ability to mentor and guide individuals, proactively disseminating your knowledge and assisting in technical people development.
Demonstrate commercial acumen and that you have a pragmatic approach to capability development that focus business cases on outcomes and benefit realisation.
You will be curious and have a mind-set of wrong thinking. You will naturally spot connections, see opportunities when others don’t and be comfortable in a ‘challenge culture’.
You will have strong long-term thinking skills with examples, understand how to make good decisions and spot opportunities.
An appreciation of the impact of change and what is required to deliver it.
Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and possess an inherent desire to drive improvement through new ways of working.
Able to work with a cross disciplined team and stakeholders to improve wider risk management topics, such as security, IP, and project risk management (PMO) capabilities.
Experience in the development of complex mechanical, software or electronic products.
Have a good understanding of different areas of risk management, including system, compliance, and safety risk management.
Familiarity with Risk Management and FMA methods such as FMEA.
