Dyson are currently looking for a Privacy Engineer to join the team in the UK.
About the role
Working as part of the Global Privacy Team in Dyson Legal, you will partner with our Research, Design and Development (RDD) and Connectivity teams to ensure that privacy considerations and requirements are integrated into product design. You will also support on other global projects and initiatives as well as regional activity.
Reporting to the Head of Privacy, you will provide prompt and professional advice to stakeholders on privacy compliance requirements to ensure that personal data is collected and used legally, ethically and responsibly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the main point-of-contact for all privacy-related matters escalated by stakeholders within the RDD and Connectivity team.
- Providing expert privacy compliance advice to stakeholders in RDD and Connectivity, especially new projects involving the use of personal data. This includes partnering with stakeholders to align advanced technologies with Privacy by Design principles from the early stages of product development, undertaking privacy impact assessments, developing new frameworks and resources, and delivering training.
- Privacy by Design principles from the first stages of development and ensure that the data use meets applicable privacy compliance requirements.
- Proactively monitoring and analysing evolving laws, rules, regulations and guidance to help Dyson to maintain compliance and strategic alignment.
- Supporting the Global Privacy Team’s ongoing privacy compliance activities.
About You
- Experience in privacy compliance within a global company.
- Prior experience in integrating privacy-related requirements and principles into a new product or system as part of an established product development cycle.
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations affecting privacy, data protection and emerging technologies (including artificial intelligence, machine learning and ‘Internet of Things’).
- Possess a relevant degree qualification (e.g. technology, law or business).
- Possess appropriate privacy-related qualifications (e.g. CIPM, CIPP/E or CIPP/A).
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholders regionally or globally.
- Strong ability in interpreting and applying legislation, advising on compliance requirements and working with risk and governance frameworks, policies or procedures.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
