About UsResponsible for delivering in depth regulatory and compliance activities and controls, taking ownership of activities for a defined area of Dyson to ensure the business operates in line with internal policies, procedures and guidance and external regulatory or legislative requirements

About the role

  • Lead a global privacy team based across geographic locations
  • Lead on data protection and global privacy compliance program
  • Develop global privacy standards in collaboration with the Head of Legal Compliance and Ethics
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing prompt, professional advice to colleagues where necessary
  • Responsible for setting and implementing all aspects of the data protection compliance strategy and program
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable data protection and privacy legislation
  • Promote and encourage a culture of data privacy across the organization – build ‘hearts and minds’ by leading on communication, awareness and training
  • Pro-actively conduct data protection impact assessments
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Dyson, including providing SME support to day-to-day queries and negotiations on data protection contract clauses with suppliers and customers
  • Lead on BAU activities and act as point of escalation for all internal escalations
  • Manage timely, appropriate and professional responses to data subject rights requests and complaints
  • Implement and maintain privacy by design across the business
  • Review and maintain data processing records (Art 30. GDPR)

About You

  • Previous experience of leading a team globally
  • Previous experience within a legal, compliance or data protection role having worked with data protection laws, with sound working knowledge of privacy compliance requirements in key territories in which Dyson operates
  • Expert knowledge of the GDPR, ideally demonstrated with an appropriate qualification (e.g. CIPP/E or CIPP/M)
  • Experience coordinating and/or supporting business-change projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside of the company, tailoring messaging to audience
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisation
  • Capable of working independently, but within a team structure
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Confidence in delivering training
  • Self-starter, confidence to independently seek resolutions to issues when appropriate
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with emerging laws and technologies
