Dyson’s Global Mechanics Commodity Team is responsible for Commodity Strategy Development of the mechanics parts in our products. This include supplier selection, supplier management and commercial agreement supporting the Category Strategies and our Global Manufacturing Strategy. Our preferred suppliers play a vital part in supporting Dyson to stay competitive and driving towards a sustainable supply chain.

The team continue to drive for value sourcing from the global supplier base and work very closely with the cross functional teams including our preferred suppliers to launch disruptive technologies on time, on volume, on quality and on cost, contributing to the top line and bottom line of Dyson.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to manage Filter Assembly. Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers as well as contract manufacturers, you will strive for best-in-class supplier performance, position materials for supply assurance and flexibility in meeting product launch schedule. In addition, you will develop and drive the implementation plan per defined Commodity Strategy.

Accountabilities:

• Ensure adherence to the Procurement Policy and Procedures

• Supplier price and contract/agreement negotiation

• Supplier Development – lead supplier development programs relevant to the Commodity Strategy

• Supplier Risk Management – for suppliers within the commodity, including mitigation plans and closure actions

• Supplier Relationship Management, supplier business review, scorecard and segmentation

• Stakeholder management and communication, primarily at a senior level, internally and externally

• Commodity Strategy development and implementation

Responsibilities:

• Full commercial responsibility of Filtration for the assigned Business Category

• Multi-sourcing activities - collaborate closely with Procurement Engineering and RDD to implement alternative materials/manufacturing solutions for Filtration design

• Responsible for the global commodity procurement activities (end to end) for specific commodities and their sub-commodity groups within Filtration

• Responsible for the Filtration Commodity Strategy for the assigned Business Category, develop, constantly review and maintain its relevance to the Procurement Blueprint, technology roadmap, market trends and forces, both globally and within region/locality

• Responsible to complete supplier risk assessment including mitigation plans and closure actions

• Manage supplier relationship, conduct supplier business review, complete scorecard and segmentation

• Commodity market intelligence – responsible for gathering and informing stakeholders of the relevant market/supplier intelligence; globally, regionally and locally

• Responsible for “End to End” performance of the commodity

Location:

• The role is based in Dyson Singapore, but requires full flexibility for global travel to other Dyson locations and supplier sites

About you

• Bachelor in engineering

• Substantial experience in Commodity Management, direct material sourcing and a good understanding with the various business model (ODM, CM, OEM)

• Demonstrate understanding of technical, manufacturing, testing methods and processes associated with Filtration

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent negotiation skills in monopolistic and competitive settings

• Cross-functional leadership with proven abilities in influencing people at all levels in the organization

• Good knowledge of legal regulations and contract setting

• Self-motivated, ability and drive to work independently and operates with the highest ethical standards

• Excellent project management skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable:

• CIPS or equivalent qualification

• FMCG background

• Experience of commodity manufacturing experience
