About the Role

To work closely with Dyson’s Global Estate team to implement energy management and promote sustainability efforts for Global Estates portfolio. The role holder should possess strong technical knowledge in energy management and relevant experience in Green Mark/LEED certification.

The role holder is responsible for providing strategic Sustainability leadership, challenge and direction across Dyson’s Global Estates portfolio.  

The role is to be an internal and external vocal advocate supporting Dyson on a best in class journey towards environmental and social stewardship and sustainability.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Translate the business level sustainability objectives into Estates specific targets and initiatives. Be the coordination lead for the multiple initiatives and communication lead within the Estates team.

  • Be the subject matter expert and primary point of contact, for all strategic environmental management enquiries, advice, support, training and coaching. This will be enhanced through frequent and effective engagement & communication with the relevant management teams.

  •  In-depth understanding of green building design, construction and operation, while also demonstrating knowledge Greenmark/LEED rating system and the certification process.

  • Create global environmental policies, standards and environmental management system.

  • Deliver and implement a comprehensive strategic environmental gap analysis / materiality assessment and improvement plan covering Dysons environmental aspects and impacts.

  • Create a best in class global environmental strategy with supporting goals and KPI’s.

  • Working with the Estates team, provide innovative environmental advice, support to the design, construction and operational management to the current and future estates portfolio and identify cost balanced solutions and opportunities.

  • Be the lead for global environmental management information, including any significant incidents, and advise the company on risk and a proportionate response.

  • Develop and deliver strategic programmes to promote and enhance employee and stakeholder environmental engagement linked to Dyson’s core values.

  • Support the Global Sustainability Team with the identification and interpretation of emerging environmental legislation and best practice.

  • Leading measurements on Environmental performance, providing insight from data and measuring performance against industry indices and best practice. Provide internal and external reporting as required.

  •  To work closely with Facilities Manager to implement energy management and promote sustainability efforts for multiple properties in the aviation sector. He / She should possess strong technical knowledge in energy management and relevant experience in Green Mark and sustainability. 

About You

  • Possess engineering or a building related degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Preferably with Greenmark AAP or LEED AP certified.

  • Undertaken Green Mark Projects/ LEED Projects to Gold Plus /Platinum, completed not longer than 2 years from point of application.

  • Provide advisory and ensure projects are on track to achieving their targeted green ratings in sustainable design (e.g., Green Mark, LEED)

  • Good understanding of mechanical, facade and architectural systems and the practicalities of integrating sustainable design initiatives into these disciplines.

  • Extensive experience of materiality assessments and sustainability reporting.

  • Demonstrable evidence of creating and influencing environmental strategy.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project.

  • Experience of managing large/complex building projects.
