We are looking for an exceptional individual to come and join our expanding Environmental Care Programme Management Team. This individual will be embedded into a growing New Category team within our Environmental Care Category. Initially responsible for the project management & delivery of the first product within this exciting new area, the role will then expand into the growing and managing of a team of Project Managers / Project Engineers split across multiple locations, and the delivery of future projects on the road map.
This role will be critical in the delivery of the first products to Launch, and as such will have a high level of visibility to the Environmental Care Leadership team.
Accountable for programme management activities within the EC New Category team to enable delivery of all projects on cost/spec and time in order to meet the EC Category growth ambitions.
Leadership and direction of global, cross functional teams to ensure communication and collaboration; resolve conflicts and lead solutions in a highly complex environment.
Take an active, hands-on role to support the identification and resolution of problems.
Identify interdependencies between functions and facilitate cooperative working.
Global key stakeholder management – keeping the leadership up to speed with the status of the projects and programme.
Challenge concepts in order to achieve the optimum design within the boundaries of time, specification and cost.
Effective management, coaching and development of the New Category programme management team as it grows.
Be the focal point for the implementation of Project Management governance & new processes across the New Category team.
Ability to use project management skills in innovative ways and remain flexible as the role develops.
Qualifications, skills and behaviours:
Hold, or demonstrate an understanding of, formal project management qualifications (such as APMP).
Candidate should possess a degree in Engineering, Project Management or can demonstrate equivalent experience. If not from a technical background, the candidate should be able to demonstrate experience of working in highly technical environments.
A proven track record in managing large/complex projects.
Experience in the delivery of technology products is beneficial, and the candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of product development processes and frameworks.
Experience of managing teams, mentoring, developing and coaching other professionals.
Experience of working at a programme level, whereby resource/cost/time decisions need to be made across projects, that drive the maximum benefit for the Category.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project.
Outstanding project management capabilities (i.e. leadership, senior stakeholder management and communication, risk management, issue resolution, budget tracking, benefits analysis, estimating and planning etc.).
Strong communicator; ability to listen and convey complex issues concisely and accurately.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build productive working relationships and influence others.
Excellent analytical skills; the ability to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions
Appreciation and understanding of the critical business functions contribution NPD including Commercial, Finance and Operations functions.
Confident; comfortable interacting with senior executives without diluting unpleasant news or well-reasoned analysis.
Assertive; readiness to challenge teams to take remedial action when required.
Credible; ability to demonstrate understanding of engineering processes in order to work with design teams throughout the project development cycle.
Shrewd: The ability to multi-task and plan effectively when working with a variety of project teams in a fast-paced and often high-pressure, competitive environment.
