The role entails working with multi-disciplinary project teams. Leading, collaborating, inspiring, and influencing the team and the business to build capabilities in this new area. Balancing Dysons rigour and with industry practice, enabling an agile approach in this fast-paced category.
In New Ventures, the team will work end to end, with the Project Manager working to build successful teams, develop robust schedules to deliver against with the support of commercial, engineering, procurement, and operations. Ultimately delivering innovative and commercially successful products.
About the role
To be responsible for developing the robust, integrated planning of the New Venture product timelines, with cross-team inputs and ensuring this is maintained throughout the project timeline.
Management of the Milestone deliverables, ensuring the cross-teams are engaged, focused and delivering to the project requirements whilst aligned to Dyson business processes.
Ensure accurate project status reporting; accurate & up-to-date schedule status with critical path items clearly defined, risks, issues, opportunities and Business Case as well as summarised status commentary to support Category escalations.
Ensure that all project Key Events (builds, launches & milestones), changes, decisions, are recorded and where necessary escalated to Category Leadership for agreement prior to re-forecast.
Ensure milestone preparations, closure activities and documentation are all completed in a timely manner and in-line with data integrity policy.
Managing the project budgets with the Project Leadership Team, ensuring business cases are robustly maintained.
Facilitating regular “drumbeat” sessions, to ensure clarity in project objectives and direction, as well as addressing any barriers to execution, at source.
Conflict resolution, with a capability to develop solutions and manage appropriate escalation.
Manage resource allocation activities against project schedules.
Maintain and manage the risks, actions and issues tracking.
Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
To promote Project Management principles and best practices to optimise delivery.
