About the role

The Quality Engineer role is responsible for driving various activities to provide understanding of perceived and actual product quality and satisfaction issues within the EU region. This role is based in the Germany market and will operate from the main location of the Cologne Office with some travel required to other operational locations in EU, predominantly in Germany such as the third-party Repair Center and warehouse facilities.


  • Product Quality – Using all available data sources and local knowledge, provide information and insight on perception of product quality and reliability

  • Product Quality Audits; quality inspection of Dyson products, performed at our third-party warehouse provider, based in Duisburg, Germany.

  • Launch monitoring: perform monitoring for new product launches

  • Market Escalation and Early Warning: reviews held with customer service teams to obtain anecdotal feedback of potential product quality issues. Complete data analysis to quantify any local product quality concerns.

  • Customer comment analysis: classify and analyse CRM data to identify the main symptoms of customer complaints.

  • Engineering Analysis: coordinate the collection of failure product or parts from customers to facilitate basic engineering inspection in market

  • Product Safety Investigations: assist with any claims of perceived product safety

  • Quality Project Support: provide general support to the EMEA Market Quality Team

  • Customer Satisfaction and Market Intelligence – provide insight into customer satisfaction through analysis of product reviews.

About you

  • A degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline (or equivalent qualification).

  • 2 years + experience in product design and development or product quality and reliability activities, ideally for mass produced consumer products.

  • Good organisation skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time across multiple activities. Ability to communication well through a variety of media

  • Willingness and flexibility to operate across several work locations including Office, Warehouse and Customer Service sites in Germany (3-4 days in the office)

  • You have an EU driving license B

  • Occasional travel to other markets within EMEA

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic data processing to agreed frameworks, ability to use basic database skills and to follow process, working in a consistent manner

  • Business level English and German required
