About the Role

The Retail Implementation Manager will sit within our APAC Retail function and will work closely with our APAC markets (India, SEA, ANZ, Korea & Japan), as well as Singapore-based and UK-based Global Retail functions across our Direct channel. 

Ultimately, you will be tasked with the delivery of Dyson Demo formats in the APAC region, on-time; on-budget and within the tightly defined global execution guidelines. You will be the conduit for information between our global retail implementation, design & development teams, and our local market retail teams, facilitating a two-way flow of information that ensures best in class guidance is cascaded and enforced top-down, and at the same time championing the voice of the markets. 

Partnering with our global implementation lead you will drive efficiencies in build costs & schedules, professional fees and best-in-class processes, all with a view of making Dyson a leaner business that delivers better stores, faster and more efficiently. 

Within the Regional Retail Function, you will partner closely with our design, retail marketing, production, and operations teams. You will have a dotted line into our Senior Global Retail Implementation Manager. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the APAC store opening programme, from site identification through to store opening and handover to operations. You will collaborate with internal, external and markets stakeholders to bring our Dyson Demos stores to life, and will be responsible for execution standards and adherence to budget and timelines. 
  • Oversight of the APAC store update and refurbishment programme, working closely with Retail Marketing, Design Development and Rollout & Production stakeholders to keep our stores looking fresh and relevant, with the least interruption to day-to-day trading. 
  • Partner with procurement functions to create regional frameworks for professional partners that drive cost, speed to market, consistency and Dyson understanding. 
  • Upskill and develop market retail teams and external vendors on Dyson standards and expectations.
  • Capture and share best practice learnings cross-regionally and to global stakeholders to ensure that store implementation continuously improves. 
  • Think creatively to propose better ways of delivering better stores with regards to cost, rollout speed, durability and execution; proactively partner and engage with global implementation, design, development and cost-management stakeholders. 
  • Track regional spend against CAPEX budget and act as a main point of contact for Group/Regional finance in relation to financial reporting for APAC budget forecasting. 
  • Champion global reporting / approval tools across the APAC Region, and drive compliance across all relevant parties to satisfy internal requirements. 
  • Be an escalation point for significant risks or decision making that requires global or regional stakeholder input. 
  • Provide regular updates to key business functions at a Senior level. 
  • Conduct regular market visits and hold markets to account for executional standards. 
  • Conduct vendor factory visits and on-site inspections as required by project cadence.

About You

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • + 5 year experience in retail or similar construction or implementation / development type roles within the APAC region.
  • Robust programme & project management skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of design and an ability to review architectural, construction and fixture drawings with an an appreciation of materials and production methods / timelines. 
  • Knowledge and experience of best practice contract and supplier relationship management approaches, methodologies and procurement processes. 
  • Experience managing external vendors; building relationships and driving performance. 
  • Commercial & financial acumen; experience dealing with P&L’s and finance functions. 
  • Strong reporting capability focusing on cost, risk and schedule. 
  • Excellent communication skillset; ability to navigate, manage and influence a complex stakeholder matrix at varying levels of seniority. 
  • Proven ability to juggle a large workload, set appropriate priorities and deliver.

  • Fluency in Japanese & / or Korean is preferable. 
  • Readiness to travel regularly across APAC 
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken) is essential.
