About the Role:

You won’t just be an intern, you’ll be a key member of the Dyson Retail Marketing team, support the Dyson Demo stores across the US, Canada and Mexico.  At the Dyson Demo Stores, consumers can experience and demo, bringing to life the science and engineering at the heart of our machines. This is a 3 month internship beginning June and ending mid August.

You will support the Digital team in executing campaigns to drive consumers to the retail stores as well as supporting the Brick & Mortar retail store team in launching retail initiatives in-store across the Americas region.

You can expect to be tasked with project(s) that capitalize on your existing skills and stretch you out of your comfort zone. Your daily responsibilities will vary but you could expect to have the following responsibilities: 

  • Support the day-to-day marketing responsibilities for the Dyson Retail Department, working under the direction of our Digital and Physical Retail Marketing Managers. 
  • Assist with execution of the retail marketing strategy, delivering brand building digital and instore product campaigns.
  • Support driving digital tactics to drive consumers to the Dyson Demo stores, such as paid media, CRM and owned media.
  • Assist in the preparation of project briefs, campaign directives and communicating with vendors/agencies and store staff to ensure a successful project execution.
  • Gain an understanding of the in-store consumer experience by category and assist in the planning of initiatives to support new product launches and services.
  • Resource and present efficiencies to ensure more seamless processes.
  • Identify new opportunities/trends/market retail insights and provide summaries of key findings
  • Contribute to a multitude of projects that emerge in a fast-paced environment 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, category and sales teams, to coordinate on business initiatives 
  • Become familiar with marketing project management software and help with scoping projects
  • Work with fellow interns and US Leadership Team on cross-functional project, presented to key stakeholders throughout the program

About You:

  • Rising undergraduate senior or graduate student (expected to graduate in Spring 2022)
  • Some business knowledge through coursework and/or other internship experiences 
  • Willing to relocate to Chicago with the possibility of travel
  • Passion for retail
  • Ability to analyze and translate data-based findings into clear, relevant and actionable insights, or have a deep desire to further develop these skills 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and drive projects forward
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams 
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written skills; the ability to interface effectively with key stakeholders at every level of the business 
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and a deep desire to learn 
  • Process-oriented thinker 
  • Education curriculum focused in marketing or communication related field
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with MS office and Outlook
  • Previous internship experience with technology or consumer electronics companies and/or in similar marketing functions
